His motive at first was to make himself look good for Harvard and live a successful life in the future. He didn't take anything seriously at first because he lives in a town called "Westport" where almost everyone is rich, but not Oliver, he haves a normal life. So when someone calls the help line, it is usually about a spoiled kid not getting what they want. But he then got a call from a guy from his school that is hiding in the closet about being gay and is having a breakdown, Oliver legitimately tries to help him. This story takes place a bit after all that
