26. As We Go

We keep going down in the elevator and the further down we go... the more I hear strange noises...

"Do you hear that..?"

I asked... Leon and I pulled out our guns,

"I dont think we're alone here..."

Helena says softly.

"Helena. Grab your gun."

Leon says, as we all gear up to fight as the elevator stops.

The doors open and a group of infected flood into the small space!

"Shit! Dont let them in!"

Leon yells as I grab my knife and stab one in the head, just as another one appears behind it,

I shoot at the one further away and as he falls the one from early with my knife gets up and I quickly gun him down.

Helena seems more wobbly the Leon and I, but that's to be expected.

Sometimes it's easier to imagine the things you're putting bullets into aren't people...

If you dehumanise something... it just seems easier to kill.

Less guilt to carry.

As we finally get out of the elevator into the parking area, we find the place crawling with more infected.

One slams into a car and its alarm goes off.

As we take out the few zombies inside we see the gates are closed and huge amounts of infected pound against it, trying to reach us.

"That's our cue to get out if here..."

Leon says,

"Couldn't agree more."

I say,

We run through a door into a security room.

I barricade the door, as we all look at the security screens.

Something caught my eye and I looked over to see two civilians holding a sign that reads

HELP!

I sigh sadly.

Then in the background I notice people moving towards them and immediately tense up,

"Oh shit..."

I breath out, as we all watch intensely,

One man finally notices the zombies but it's too late!

"Let's go!"
