Chapter 2

She had been so beautiful. That's what caught me off guard when they brought her to the council. I mean... meeting gorgeous people wasn't anything new when you worked for Seven; all of us were good-looking... at least at first. No... she was different. Even in her sleep, she'd been both enchanting and haunting. I almost wanted to release her... to help her escape... It would be a shame for that face and body of hers to be marked with scares...

NO, I forced myself to think, though I suspected that almost every other man in the room was going through a similar train of thinking. I had to stop these kind of thoughts... If I helped her and they found out- I shuddered at the thought. And how could I not be caught, with Para-Unit monitoring every unit...

That's the task they were assigned to, after all. To make sure we all followed the rules. To keep us alert, paranoid(hense, the name). And if paranoia didn't stop someone from breaking the rules, then Unit Red, the torture unit, was set loose on them. My unit, Unit Black, was a unit solely comprised of highly trained mutants. Yes... that's right, mutants. You probably thought they didn't exist, but you were obviously wrong, because I am one. My unit's was charge of taking care of anything high-priority or high-risk for OS.

There were plenty of other units too:

White, Green, Gray, Blue, Beige, Midnight and Zero.

I knew all of their purposes except for units Midnight and Zero.

So... you won't be surprised when I say that helping her get out of here wasn't at the top of my to-do list. I mean... sure I was a highly trained and dangerous mutant, but hell, so were more than a tenth of Seven's millions of workers. Not like I could run either; OS had companies in almost every country in the world.

Besides I didn't even know her. She could be a total bitch for all I knew. Right, stay in that mind-frame, Vieh*, I thought to myself, but even as I was thinking it, I couldn't help but gaze at her face. I'd never seen anything more striking. Her flaming red tresses were wavy and reached her elbows. She had clear, pale skin, and incredibly red lips. I wondered what color the eyes hidden beneath those long eyelashes were...

"This girl, Kreia Thor, is very important to Seven's future, and I expect each and every one of you to consider her top priority over everything." The harsh voice of Art, the most severe of the OS leaders said, putting an end to my daydreaming and immediately sparking my curiosity. She was obviously a mutant, of that I had no doubt. A powerful one too. Only a mutant could look so beautiful, and even then, only the strongest have beauty such as hers. Even so, up until now, Organization Seven has treated mutants as though they existed for the sole purpose of aiding them. It was unheard of for Seven to give even the most powerful mutant so much attention...

I was pondering why she was so important to the leaders when Micheal spoke.

"Now, now Art, at least explain to them who she is before barking orders," he said in polite disapproval.

This got him several smiles of gratitude from those in the room. Micheal was the calmest and most polite of the leaders.

While the leaders (As the Organization's name inplied, there were seven) all have similar ambition, their personalities couldn't be more different. Out of the guys, half were well liked, and the other half... Not so much. Casper belonged in the first category with Micheal, but while Micheal was quiet and calm, Casper was boisterous and hyperactive. Art was strict, severe and often grumpy, but even he was likeable when compared to Ashley, who was cold, cruel and calculating. Out of the girls, Annabelle was a strict and stuck up snob with a stick up her ass, Shannon was sporty and fun to hang out with, and Rose was quiet and shy. For some reason, Rose stuck with Annabelle.

"Fine," Art grumbled. Lowering his tone to convey the importance that what he was about to say be kept secret, he managed to shock everyone in the room. Well, almost everyone, but you couldn't count the other leaders, who already knew. Or Sean. He seemed to be spacing out, and even if he had been paying attention, I doubted he'd look shocked. I was starting to doubt whether he had any emotions at all.

                                                           Sean's POV

I looked at her sleeping face, remembering the emotions I had felt from her when she saw us. Surprise. Then confusion, quickly working her way towards aprehension. I was impressed when it didn't turn to fear, but instead annoyance, and again surprise when Jade stopped her from closing the door in our faces. The others had been stunned by her beauty. It probably showed clearly on their faces, though I doubt she noticed, she was too preoccupied with observing our cloths and scars to notice anyone's expressions. Even so, I made sure to keep an expression of blank boredom on my face (I usually only pay attention to peoples emotions, and I never really notice what they look like, but even I couldn't help but notice how beautiful she was); it was easy after so many years of practice.

I'd been ordered to put her to sleep the moment she showed any sign of resistance. That meant the leaders didn't want her damaged; this girl was important to them...

I could vaguely guess why; the leaders had been planning something for weeks, and when it was Ashley who showed up to explain the new assignment, it was obvious that it was important to the plan. What had surprised me was that it was a simple retrieval assignment.

Too bad though; this meant another person was caught in Seven's claws... Oh well, just one more that I would need to release when I left this place.

Art was now telling everyone but me and Vieh to leave.

Vieh wasn't the kind of guy that belonged in Organization Seven. Mostly because he was actually a good guy with high morals. The only reasons they let him in the Organization (and Unit Black no less) were because he's a mutant and because he was so blinded by his idolization of Micheal that they could use him to give them all the information they needed on our behaviour and who to watch out for. He wouldn't even realize that he was their spy. He was the reason I always portrayed the image of an emotionless robot who always follows orders, never breaks the rules, and won't tolerate anyone else doing otherwise.

When everyone left the room, I was asked to wake Kreia up and Vieh was given the task of taking care of her.

The ability to wake someone up or put someone to sleep may be part of my power as a mutant, but it isn't just *snap* and they're asleep(or awake). You have to concentrate. Search in their direction with your mind until you can feel theirs. Then, if you want them asleep, slowly block them from their thoughts until everything goes foggy for them, or, if you want to wake them up, give them a good mental wack.

Unfortunately, that meant the people I woke were always in a bad mood.

Her eyes snapped open immediately.

*Vieh -The pronunciation is Vy/Vigh (rhymes with bye and hi)

Vieh's name means something in another language and if you know it then you probably now have a vague picture of his power as a mutant.

Sry I haven't added this on for a while, but my internet hasn't been working. I also haven't started on writing my third chapter (and probably won't any time soon) because of Christmas break.
