Coding Error [OFF x Reader]

5. The Masked Man By The Docks

- Polish grammer.
- Includes the new addition of a "dialogue event" for Zacharie. (basically if for that video game feel I'm aiming for)
- Batter sometimes has a face and sometimes doesn't.
- Basically a re-write.

"This is whack!" you exclaim. Again and again you forcefully try to shove your newly attained loot inside the black box of your inventory but all it does is spit out a warning text about full inventory. You've tried everything, shoving it with your hands, placing it on the floor so you could stomp your objects into the box, reorganize the items like something out of re4 but it was proving pointless. You toss your head back with an exasperated growl, raising an imaginary eyebrow from the Batter.

Speaking of the man. "Hey Batter can you store some things for me? I think my inventory is full."

"Of course, whatever is mine is yours and what is yours... Is also yours."

Just like expected, Batter can't say no to you. The monochrome man is like a loyal dog, he protects you, follows blindly behind you and takes orders without a second thought. It's unsure if he's always been this way or this is the personality he adopted ever since you became a being of living flesh walking right beside him. It's great! Just like having a personal body guard, albeit a little off-putting at times, like when you ordered him to punch you. Just how far can you push this new side of him?

Back to the current problem at hand. At first it innocently started by having him carry the loot you couldn't fit after the fight with the two sludge snakes, but with the constant barrel snooping and fish enemies you two came to realize the bigger issue.

"Puppeteer, you know I'm not one to doubt your judgment but do we really need all these teeth?" Batter watches you struggle to choose between switching out a handful of credits and a handful of teeth like a hoarding gremlin.

"Of course! They got to be worth something, who knows if we'll ever need the later-" a quick view at Batter's visible face told you everything you need to see, he's doubtful, not at you but about needing all these things. You eventually came to your senses, ultimately deciding to toss the teeth collection into the blank ocean. "Oh who am I kidding. I don't know why we have a limited inventory space to begin with! And don't get me started on the credits, they're supposed to have a separate compartment, why count as a item??"

The Batter watches the ripples in the plastic sea from where you tossed away the loot. "Who knows, I'm here to follow the rules not make them."

"Well if I was in change things would work different." you dust your hands after managing fish teeth, wondering if hand sanitizer exists here.
The good news is that you two reached the edge of the walkway a pair of steps later, the bad news is that there's nothing of interest here besides a door leading to the backside of the building. Batter raised the sleeves on his arms looking all tough as he attempts to open the door, but it refuses to budge despite the man's efforts.
[ Door locked ]
"Hmm, something tells me this door will be accessible after we beat this level." you rub your chin suspiciously meanwhile the Batter removes his cap to wipe the sweat from his forehead.

"Does that mean we're here too early?" he asks.

"Maybe, maybe," you ponder some more, turning in the opposite direction from the building to view the blank sea and the last small dock stretching from the walkway. "But if we weren't supposed to come here yet then the enemies would've been tougher to beat." you focused your view on the dock, watching intently a group of rusty cylinders all tied up together. All except for one. Since when do cylinders sit at the edge of the dock and practice fishing?
You immediately place a hand on Batter's shoulder, trying to pull him down to your level, the man doesn't budge so you angry whisper at him. "Batter! There's someone sitting at the edge of the dock," you point, his taller height allowing him better of the stranger.
