"Siya....baby I'm sorry. Please open your eyes", I cried and caressed her face.

The doctors took her into the operation theatre and the doors closed. I stood there lifeless while Naira was supporting Aatish.

I held my breath and punched the wall. I cursed under my breath and rushed towards the school authorities.

NAIRA'S POV

Kartik rushed somewhere in anger. I could sense that a storm was about to fall on somebody.

"Aatish....sit here. I'll bring your dad before he bangs somebody's head. Okay....be brave. Nothing will happen to your sister. Everything will be alright", I assured Aatish and followed Kartik.

He stormed towards the principal. The principal stood up with her legs shaky praying to God that this shouldn't be her last day.

"What happened to my daughter? How is she in this condition? What did you do to her?", Kartik asked with gritted teeth trying his best not to bang her head.

"We don't know sir. I swear. It was midnight. Everyone was in their rooms. The teacher who did rounds, found Siya sitting against the wall in the washroom, unconscious and she was foaming at her mouth. As soon as we got to know this, we called you and rushed her to the hospital", the principal explained.

Kartik sighed and rubbed his forehead, trying his best not to lose his temper.

"Listen....if anything happens to my daughter...I'm gonna make sure that you people go to hell. I'm gonna sue you-", Kartik began to say but I interrupted him in between and tried to calm him down.

"Kartik....calm down. There's no use if we threaten somebody. They're not at fault. We should thank them that they didn't waste time in thinking and rushed her to the hospital", I explained him.

"We'll see that when my daughter comes out of the OT safe and sound", he said glaring at the principal.

"Dad...Naira the doctor is calling all of you, even the principal", Aatish said and we all rushed to the doctor.

"What happened to my daughter doctor? Is she alright?", Kartik showered the doctor with questions as soon as he reached him.

The doctor sighed.

"I'm sorry to say Mr. Goenka....but did you know that your daughter is taking drugs?", the doctor asked Kartik.

Kartik stood there, dumbfounded.

"What!!", he asked shocked.

"Yess...Mr. Goenka. Siya was taking drugs, anti depressants.....it was due to their overdose that she's in this condition", the doctor explained Kartik.

Kartik was just looking at the doctor. He was in too much shock to reply anything.

"Drugs....anti depressants....I-I didn't know that. Since when?", Kartik asked unable to grasp anything.

"Not a long time ago. She has started it recently so we'll be able to cure her", the doctor replied.

"You mean....she's going to be okay? I mean you can treat her right?", Aatish asked hoping for a positive reply.

"Lets hope for the best kid", the doctor said and walked inside the OT.

"Siya....Siya was taking drugs, anti depressants.  And I didn't know that. She - she wanted to talk to me about this. But I didn't listen to her. I didn't", Kartik began sobbing as he realised everything.

I held his shoulder. He wiped off his tears and looked at the principal.

"So this is the reality of your school. You encourage the kids to take drugs. Why did I send her away? Why?! Its all my fault. I was careless. And you....mark my words. I'm not gonna forget this. You are over", Kartik warned the principal.
