Side Story - Shinsou

Start from the beginning

The boy was a mess, scraped up and covered in dirt with a bloodied nose and irritation in his eyes. Shinsou glared back, until he saw the red hue beginning to shine in the darkness.

"If you come in looking like that, she's going to cry again. Either sneak in, or clean yourself up out here. Your choice."

"Yeah, I know...I'll be careful, Sensei."

Aizawa stared back tiredly before opening the door, heading into their house as Shinsou quietly followed. As soon as the door shut, they both heard the soft but quick footsteps from the other side. Shinsou ducked down and around the corner, waiting for the little girl to run up to Aizawa before sneaking towards his room.

"Papa! Papa look what I drew! It's you flying around the city!"

"That's nice, kiddo, but I don't fly, I just project myself and use this scarf to swing ar-"

Aizawa felt Shinsous glare on him from down the hall, and he sighed.

"Thank you, Eri. I do love flying around the city."

The little girl named Eri smiled widely up at Aizawa, giggling as he crouched down to her level to ruffle her hair. She was young, maybe five or six, and she was pretty smart for her age, but sometimes Aizawa would forget just how little kids could comprehend on their own. He'd teach her some day, but Shinsou always tried to have him just let her be a kid.

"Did brother not come back yet?"

"No, but I found out he was bullying someone again, so when he comes back, be sure to really give it to him, okay, Eri?"

"Right!"

The girl puffed out her cheeks and balled her hands into fists, glaring up at Aizawa as he chuckled and stood back up.

"Let's go draw some more until he arrives, hm?"

"Sure! You're really good at drawing, Papa!"

Aizawa laughed a little louder and led the child into their kitchen, helping her back into her chair as he sat down across from her. Eri sat up on her knees and used the piece of charcoal she had to doodle on the spare parchment paper. Aizawa held his head up one hand, sighing as he looked at the horn protruding from her head. It wasn't huge, but it wasn't too small to be unnoticed, and it kept her from going out like a normal child.

"I'm going to draw brother next."

"Give him a big head."

"Well duh!"

Aizawa snorted and covered his mouth as he laughed, hearing a quiet crash as Shinsou shifted around his room. The purple haired boy cleaned off his outfit, quickly brushed his dirtied hair, and washed off his face. He didn't have time to fully bathe, but the illusion of cleanliness was all he needed at the moment. He cleaned up his bloody nose, waiting for it to dry up and brush it away before opening his window and climbing out of it. Sneaking around the house, he opened their front door a little louder, stomping in and exaggerating that he was finally home.

"Sensei, I'm home! Where's that little gremlin?"

"I'm not a gremlin!"

The tiny pitter patter of footsteps was back as Eri came around the corner, glaring and puffing out her cheeks. Her red eyes were angry, and attempting to be intimidating, but Shinsou only laughed, speaking in a deep and playful voice.

"Ah, mighty gremlin! What have you done with Princess Eri?!"

"I am Princess Eri! I'm not a gremlin!"
