PART THREE // Three

Before the breakup // Seungwsik POV

"Dear Diary,

Yesterday was my birthday. And one of those rare days I did not write in the diary. Because yesterday was a day full of surprise, and Seungwoo spent the night over in my dorm, so I didn't have a chance to write.

He came to send me breakfast in the morning, and we played a fool a bit. We both had classes, but then we were messing around so we missed the timing to get ready for class, and we decided to skip classes for once. (Luckily both our classes have webcasts, so it's okay to catch up later.)

We headed out for lunch, and it's a fancy traditional Korean restaurant. We recently found out we both prefer Korean food to other cuisines. I remember he was trying too hard, bringing me to a western restaurant back when he visited my hometown. ㅎㅎ Cute though. 

He made an excuse to the washroom after we ate but returned with flowers. He said it was my twenty-first birthday so I had to receive the flowers. I usually don't like to get flowers because they wilt and I find it sad. But I was glad to receive flowers yesterday.

We stopped by the mall in the afternoon and Seungwoo made me pick out a cologne I like. He said it is a must as a twenty-first birthday present as well. I thought it was a joke but I played along. And so I received my second present like that.

At my door, he said my third present should be a kiss from him, which surprised me a little. He told me to close my eyes, which I did. But he only placed a light peck on my forehead after a long time. I was a little disappointed so I said goodbye and opened my dorm door, but he pushed me inside and kissed me on my lips, and I enjoyed it.

We ordered delivery for dinner and spent the rest of the time watching some movies on my laptop and cuddling in bed. We had to be quiet so my neighbours will not find out. Since it's apparently not allowed to let guests stay overnight. But who cares, right?

It was a great twenty first birthday! Because there's Seungwoo. Hoping to spend more birthdays with him."

I was writing in my diary in bed, the day after my twenty-first birthday. Seungwoo's smell seemed to be lingering in the sheets. And then I hid my nose into my pillow cover until I fell asleep.

Days returned to what it was like before the holidays. Seungwoo would bring me breakfast in the morning, and we would either leave for class together or stay in for a bit. Sometimes, Seungwoo and I would talk about life after we graduate. We looked forward to staying together. We both agreed to move in together after Seungwoo graduate and I would look forward to that day. Even if it is still more than a year until Seungwoo's graduation, I would randomly look up the housing market and send links I found online to Seungwoo. Then he would tease me saying I that obviously could not wait to live together with him. Even if it was true, I did not want to look little beside him, so I would throw a fist at his arm whenever he teased. But of course, with the amount of gym he did, I was no match for his strong arms. He would then lock me in his long limbs instead.
