"I hope you could keep quiet about me if I kept quiet about you.. So, you coming?" Hawks asked as he raised his arm for you to take.

"You don't have to be dramatic about it", you said before you accepted his offer, but didn't take his hand.

"Good!" Hawks said as he turned around and started walking towards an entrance that was on the roof, you quickly followed after him.
Did he seriously take you to the hide out without hearing your answer first?

The two of you went down one set of stairs and entered a hallway that had one door in it, opposite of that was an elevator. Hawks walked to the door and opened it while you followed quietly after him.

The room behind the door was a small area where to remove your shoes. You didn't have yours on so you waited for Hawks to continue to the other room.

Hawks opened the next door that led to the actual apartment area, as you walked in you noticed how much bigger it was than your own apartment, it was also much better decorated and looked expensive.

"How am I supposed to hide in a huge apartment like this?" You asked sarcastically as you walked past Hawks wings to view the area better.
There was an open kitchen area that lead to a living room with wall sized windows covering the entire wall. All the furniture were modern with black and white colors, with a touch of red in some places.

"This is an extra house I own, it's not in any papers so nobody knows about it. There is also a security team working in the lobby 24 hours a day so there is no way a villain could ever get in here" Hawks explained, he sounded excited about the little details.

You walked towards the windows in the living room. You could see the sun setting behind the horizon, you had no idea what day it was anymore or how much time you had missed.

"I'm still locked up, just in a nicer place.." you muttered and took of the mask of your costume before turning to look at Hawks.
"And I still don't trust you by the way" you continued and smiled a bit. The hero nodded as he looked at you, he understood that after all he did, it would take a while before you would trust him again.

This was the first time Hawks saw your face even if it was mostly covered by a shadow. With the sunset behind you, you looked like a phoenix even when not using your quirk.
The visual was stunning and in that moment Hawks couldn't find any words to say.

"Am I able to go back home to get clothes and other stuff?" You asked suddenly, breaking Hawks away from the moment.
Wearing the costume longer than the few hours you were used to was getting uncomfortable.

"I can get everything for you! Your apartment is actually a crime scene now.." Hawks started but you quickly interrupted him.

"Why is it a crime scene..?" You asked as you got closer to Hawks, walking away from the window.

"One of your neighbour heard fighting and called the police.. And since you went missing after that.." Hawks explained but you interrupted him again to ask more questions.

"Is Yui okay?" You asked, worried about your only real friend from work. You thought back to the chicken strips Hawks brought you while you were kept locked up, he must have gone back to the restaurant you work at.

"I'm not sure who that is but I didn't take anyone other than you", Hawks said, calming your nerves a bit.

"She has to know I'm okay, is there any way I could contact her?" You asked, wanting to make sure Hawks was speaking the truth about not taking anyone else, but also to let Yui know you were fine.

"Too dangerous, the League could track you here", Hawks said strictly, you nodded in understanding.

"Fine.. But if you think I'll let you look around my place alone you are crazy! I'm coming too" You said as you headed for the front door past Hawks. You were almost dry so you could easily fly on your own after a minutes of drying.

"Also dangerous!" Hawks said as he followed after you. You sent him an intimidating look and he quickly shut his mouth by doing a zipper motion over his mouth.

You activated your quirk to dry yourself as the two of you made your way to the roof. Once up there Hawks was about to take a hold of your waist but you swatted his hands away.

"I can fly on my own! Just lead the way" you said, there was no way you would let the winged hero carry you around like you were quirkless and useless.

"You wouldn't be able to keep up!" Hawks said with a wide smirk.

"Is that a challenge?" You asked, letting out your fire wings, it felt so good to use your quirk again.

"Your place is that way, I'll see you there!" Hawks said as he pointed towards somewhere in the distance.
Without saying a word back to him, you ran and jumped of the building, spreading your wings wide as you started flying towards the directions Hawks pointed to.

He was already coming after you with a great speed, he gave you a small wave and a smirk before flying past you with full speed.

Honestly this would have been the perfect time to escape and go to the police, but they would have most likely arrested you as well.
And even if they didn't, where would you go after that? The League would still be after you no matter if Hawks was put away or not.

Right now the thing that made most sense was to do what Hawks told you to do. If that meant staying in a luxury apartment, you wouldn't complain about it.

You continued to fly with Hawks across the sky that was filled with beautiful burning colors of the sunset, feeling free for the first time in days.
