I stood by the side of the bleachers as I waited for Matt, who was taking forever. How long does it take to gather your stuff? The worst part was that I had nothing to do, no one to text. I was just awkwardly standing there. Don't you hate that?

"Sorry again about earlier."

I nearly jumped out of my skin when #33 came up from behind me. He looked slightly sweaty, but not nearly as much as he was before, when he was, uh, on top of me.

"Oh, um, don't worry about it. I'm fine." I tried to say it casually, but who knows how it came out sounding. He was actually talking to me. By choice.

"I don't recognize you from around here."

I was wondering why he would, because who actually recognizes everyone in their school, until I remembered. This school only has 100 kids. Of course you would recognize everyone.

"Yea, I'm starting here on Monday and I was just gonna have a look around the school." I thought he looked excited for a moment, but the look was gone quickly, so I may have been wrong. Or I may have just imagined it... hey, a girl can dream, right?

"Cool. We usually don't get too many new kids around-"

"Dude, we're leaving. Come on!" I looked back to glare at whoever interrupted our beautiful conversation and saw some other team members.

He hesitated for a moment before saying, "I guess I'd better go. I'll see you around?"

"Yeah," was all that came out of my mouth before he dashed off to meet his friends. Dang, I realy hope I do see him around. I couldn't help the giddy feeling I had. You can't blame me, an extremely attractive guy had just had a conversation with me. Who cares that it was only a few sentences. I think that still counts as a conversation.

"Alright, Tors, I'm ready," Matt said, finally coming over. His blonde hair was wet as he came out, looking as if he just took a shower.

"Took you long enough, " I grumbled as we made our way to the school building.

"Oh please, I've had to wait much longer for you before," he said as we made our way up the stairs to the main entrance.

"Yea, but I'm a girl," I said in a duh voice.

"So?" Gosh, how does he not understand that girls are supposed to take longer while getting ready. We had so much more to do. Why don't boys understand this?

"Never mind," I said as we turned towards the school. We could go back and forth like this forever if one of us didn't decide to end it. After knowing him for my whole life, being as our moms were friends before we were born, I know that I have to be the one to end it and let him win. He's too stubborn to stop and lose. Not that conversations are a win or lose situation, but that's how he looks at it.

"So, you and Madison, huh?" He said in amused tone as he raised an eyebrow. I've never understood how people can raise only one eyebrow and look attractive. When I try my face just looks demented.

"Shut up," I mumbled.

"Oh come on, he was all over you. Literally." He started cracking up as if he just said the funniest joke ever.

"Stopppp!" I whined as I pushed him. Unfortunately, he barely moved. Darn him and his football-playing body.

"So, welcome to Clearview Academy!" His voice had suddenly changed to sound like a tour guide. I rolled my eyes as I followed him into the school."These are the lockers, this is the floor, that's the ceiling, and that's - Oww!" he yelled as I punched his arm.

"Oh please, I barely touched you. Stop being such a drama queen."

He was about to reply when a door opened and nearly hit me in the face. I gasped quietly before a teacher came out. "Oh, I'm so sorry, miss," he apologized. Turning to see who was next to me, he said, "Oh, hey Matt, what are you doing here? It's Christmas break after all. And I'm not used to seeing you after school, you usually run out of here as school as the last bell rings," he chuckled. Wow, the teachers at my school would never talk to a student after school hours, let alone be so friendly. I might have to get used to this.

"Hey Mr. B, this is Victoria Read," Matt gestured towards me. "She starts here next week, so I thought I'd just show her around."

Mr. B gave Matt a knowing smile before saying,"How thoughtful of you." Ugh, I know what he was thinking. I had to stop myself from denying anything. I mean, I barely knew the guy, I couldn't just go right out and say something back to him. Instead I just awkwardly stared at the ground as he continued. "Well, I'll see you around Matt. And I look foward to having you in my class, Victoria." He continued down the hallway.

I waited until he rounded the corner and asked Matt, "How does he know I'll take his class?" Matt chuckled at me and started walking down the hallway. Did I miss something? "What?" I asked as I ran to catch up with him.

"Tors, we only have five main teachers, and every student has all of them. We have a few others, but they only teach a class or two, like art or drama." I'm sorry, did he just say five?

"Only five teachers?!?! How do all the kids have class?" I'm just slightly confused here. Ok, I'm a lot confused. Only five?

"Some of the grades are combined for some classes."

Yeah, I may need some time to adjust to this school.
