Midsummer Festival

It was summer. Somewhere mid July. Cool breeze struggled to fight with intense summer sun's heat, although it was nearing the evening. Some local rock band was blasting their mediocre groove. Nothing special, but just perfect for the midsummer festival.
It wasn't a big field, nor a big event, nor a big town, but people from couple towns over gathered up for some cheep beer and carefree dancing or just chilling with friend's, maybe making new connections. Beer was cheep. Of course, not the best quality and a bit warm, but at least cheep.
Like in all festivals you could find some drugs and dealers. You don't even need to look that hard, just follow the trail of people with a pure ecstasy on their faces and you'll be set.
But people didn't come here for drugs, or beer. Not even for music. They came here to be free, to forget the comming studies or jobs. They came here to make a statement: that they are free, at least for tonight.

John and Gabriel were standing near the side of the field, leaning on the metal fence. John were holding Gabriel in his embrace. They both felt lightness that seems to be empowering the folks in the festival. Not a care in the world. Sun was halfway gone over the horizon, letting the light and cool summer night's air seep in.
Gabriel looked up at John and leaned back, freeing himself from John's arms. Gabriel stuck his face up in the air, closed his eyes and took a deep breath. The air smelled of summer night, smoking fires, cheep alcohol and crowds sweat. He sighed and limped down. Gabriel stared at John with a spark in his eyes, slowly examining his figure. John was well built, but you really couldn't tell. He was good at hiding that. Light gray eyes mindlessly stared at the stage. He seemed hypnotized by the lights bouncing in the crowd. His curly brown hair, uncept because he didn't had time nor effort, bouncy and flowing down onto his shoulders glimmerd with slightly red waves.
Gabriel leaned closer to John. Their eyes met each other. Slight smile and warmth from the alcohol flashed in their faces. Gabriel closed his eyes and kissed John. They were caught in the moment. Not a care in the world, only each other. Blazing passion and genuine love, warmth filled them both. That's one of the best feelings there is.
