Bosons are particles that carry energy. There are many bosons which carry different types of energy. Here is a list:
-Gluons(0 mass): gluons hold quarks together in neutrons and protons and will only be unable to do so in extreme circumstances. In these circumstances, a soup made of quarks and gluons called 'quark-gluon plasma' is created.
-Photons(0 mass): DID YOU EVEN PAY ATTENTION IN CHAPTER 1?!?!
-Z boson: Z bosons and their cousins the +/-W bosons govern decay (breaking down) of subatomic particles.
-+/-W boson:^
Higgs boson: This particle causes mass and can interact with itself as it has mass.
Gravitions(hypothetical): These particles which are suggested to be responsible for gravity may travel faster than light which explains how black holes absorb light.
