"I'm leaving", my eyes widened as my smile slowly started to fade away. Not knowing when it will return.
"You know I love you, right?" I didn't hear him completely oblivious to the desperation his voice held. The feeling of deep realization filling my stomach with dread. My vision blurred as I stared back at my impending doom.
I shook my head feeling a boil in my heart. As if there was a hand wrapped around my heart squeezing it over and over again. I felt my strength being taken away, my breath being taken away, my soul leaving my body.
"I...I have to leave in order to take care of you, okay?" He attempted to explain but I already felt the betrayal seep in my bones. "I'll be back... then it'll be you and me until then you'll have to stay here with mom and Jacob". He stared in my now void eyes as my face covered in disgust.
When he had said he was going to college I expected he meant in state not half way around the country. He was gonna leave me, knowing I needed him. I desperately searched for words to say. Any words.
Come on
Come on
Please
Say something.
I smashed my eyes closed hoping when I opened them this wouldn't be my reality. Sadly, it was cause when I opened them he was still there standing looking at me his eyes almost pleading me. For God knows what.
Suddenly, I couldn't bare to see him. My heart full with hatred that once held so much love and admiration. I pushed him. He grabbed my wrist as I tried to get him out of my room.
"Stop, J...don't do this", I yanked my wrist out of his grasped I continued to push him out my room and into to the hallway before shutting and locking the door.
The next morning I watched my mother cry heavy tears as she helped him into the car. I hoped he'd stop packing his things that held so many memories and say he's staying, but that would be selfish of me.
I saw him give mom one last tight embrace before going over to the passenger side of the car. He gave mom one last longing look before capturing my blood shot eyes from the night before. I stared. Begging with my eyes, praying that he got the message, he'd stay. He looked away, breaking eye contact, then turning his attention to Jacob who was in the driver sit ready to escort him to the airport. I watched as the car pulled out the driveway.
I couldn't help but feel as though my happiness went with him.
