A bus drives past a small restaurant the sign reading Burger Shire.

An elf hands Ian a receipt, the blue elf taking it and sitting down on a bench next to Y/n who was scanning over one of her textbooks before glancing up at the boy who sat down next to her. Seeing it was Ian she leaned her head against his shoulder and continued to flip through her textbook.

A middle aged elf sat a a few feet away with his son who was on his phone. The elf gave a side glance at Ian's sweatshirt. "Go Griffins!"

Ian looked at the man confused, "what?"

"You go to Willowdale College?" Y/n lifted her head up from Ian's shoulder as Ian glanced down at his Dad's sweatshirt for a split second.

"Oh, no. This was my dad's."

The mans son stood up and left as the man's eyes widened in surprise. "Lightfoot? Wilden Lightfoot?" Y/n chuckled lightly.

"Yeah" Ian said sheepishly.

"You're kidding. I went to college with him." Y/n smiled as Ian's eyes widened.

"Really?" the H/c haired girl asked. The elf smiled, "yeah. Boy, I was so sorry to hear that he passed away." the mans face fell. Ian smiled softly nodding, "yeah. Thanks." Y/n patted his shoulder sending a few jolts through his body. The man passed a look between the pair.

"You know, your dad wad a great guy. So confident. When he came into a room, people noticed." The man chuckled softly. "The man wore the ugliest purple socks every single day." Y/n laughed lightly bumping Ian's shoulder with her own. "What? Why?" Ian exclaimed his voice happier than it was this morning.

The man chuckled, "hey, that's exactly what we asked. But he was just bold." The man sighed softly, "I always wished I had a little bit of that in me." Ian looked down his smile faltering.

"Yeah. Wow. I've never heard any of this about him before." Y/n nodded.

"Yeah. Thanks" she tells him softly. Ian nods, "what else do you remember?" he exclaims. But the talking was cut short. "Dad!" the man's son holds up a bag with their food in it.

"Oh sorry, gotta get this guy off to school." The man stands up, Y/n and Ian following in suit.

"Hey, it was nice meeting you two." He holds out his hand, Y/n taking it. "Yeah. You too" she tells him releasing his hand and letting Ian shake it. Before he walked away with his son. Ian sighs softly looking down feeling Y/n place a hand on his shoulder.

"Hey, you found someone who could tell you more about your dad" she told him ruffling his curly dark blue hair making his ears twitching as she sat down.

"Huh." he looked up from the floor. "Bold." Y/n looked up from her textbook.

"What was that?" Ian turned to look at her, "nothing! Nothing."

Very small time skip

Y/n sits next to Ian on a bench across the road from the school both sipping on their coffee looking out on the road at the passing cars. A textbook sat in Y/n's lap as she flipped through it, the sun making her H/c hair gleam.

Ian set down his coffee set down and picked up his notebook and pen looking down at the lines before writing: New Me

Glancing over at Y/n he looked down at the lines again writing a list.
