One day.
That was all it took to ruin what was supposed to be beautiful and inspiring.
You'd wake up that morning, feeling completely new. Like no one can destroy the amount of confidence you bear, because you know that you've made it. Through all of life's hardships, you somehow managed to push through and keep pushing even when you felt like the weight of a thousand bricks are crushing your heart
We call it 'Reclassification', because there would be absolutely no reason for anyone to mistaken you for someone who didn't know herself.
Typically, that would've been true considering how far she's gotten in life as she plans to exceed her own expectations, but since we were dealing with your not so typical family, things changed directions rather quickly. She couldn't understand how even at the rising of her peak, the people she loved could still manage to destroy her.
Maybe its the love in general, that destroys. Because one who cannot control it, is controlled by it.
What was supposed to be a night of celebration between siblings and other acquaintances, turned out to be a group of young adults wanting nothing more than to unleash their frustrations in any way possible.
The clock had just struck Midnight as the family arrived at the located brick house hoping to escape reality just one more time.
"Just one night." Nicholas muttered to himself, although everyone around could hear him perfectly clear.
Emmett took a deep breath as he stared out of his window allowing the darkness to overtake him as he said, "One night to be completely free of regret."
He slowly looked ahead of him as he couldn't decide if he wanted Shani to leave his mind just yet, but then again he knew that if it would be for a few hours only, he would like to forget the deep agony that burned a hole in his heart.
"Are we going in, or are we all going to have a moment of depression?" Malachi huffed in pure irritation while staring at his two brothers like they had gone completely insane.
Malachi was unsure of what notification Emmett received during Ivyonna's graduation earlier, but he knew deep down that there was something troubling him, judging by his sudden changes of mood. Emmett usually appeared to be this dedicated, hardworking man, destined for love and all its complications but tonight-- tonight he was someone of a different nature. It wasn't near evil, but more of a surrender.
It seemed like darkness always won in the end, no matter how hard you tried to fight it.
It was very unlikely for Nicholas to seem as if he was off, but Malachi being who he was could tell almost instantly that there was something creeping up his spine that he had no chance of escaping.
It was like watching a nearby grasshopper face an elephant; brave as he could stand but he knew that there was no chance of him winning the battle. Hmm, some may call it foolish. Others may describe it as a mans guide to his pride, but to Nicholas, it was a sacrifice.
Just as he could notice these particular details between his older brothers, he knew not of his sisters intentions as she mastered the ability to hide in plain sight for the time being.
She sat in the passengers seat fumbling with her fingers, not nervously but he guessed just to pass time until the bunch decided to enter the scene. He secretly wished that he could read her mind, but it was impossible because every time he thought he caught on to her, she would switch her joke in the middle of it all.
