you woke up to the smell of coffee, and to find that eddie wasn't there. you had no reason to not trust him, but the littlest part of you needed to make sure you weren't left alone.

"eddie?" you called his name. you heard shuffling from behind the wall where you couldn't see him. he appeared with two cups of coffee in his hands.

"rise and shine, i hope you like coffee." he placed the mug on the nightstand beside you with a cheesy smile spread across his face.

you sighed in relief, "i do eddie, thank you." you stretched your legs and sat up. you had a small moment of realization that you didn't wake up in that small bedroom of yours, and would be a long time before you ever would again. you brushed that away, and took a sip of your coffee. you checked the clock next to you to see that it was almost time to check out.

you got yourself ready, and tried to drink as much of your coffee as you could. all that was left to do was wait for eddie. you turned on the small tv to pass the time.

you noticed eddie come out of the bathroom buttoning up his shirt, looking at what you had on the television.

"you ready?" he asked.

you nodded your head as you couldn't help but stare.

and with that, you both gathered your things and left the motel.

-

"hey, you wouldn't mind if i ran a some errands would you?" eddie asked. you've been on the road for a good 15 minutes before he mentioned the errands.

"you're the one driving, i don't mind." you replied.

about 5 minutes went by and he had parked at, what looked to be, a closed pub. only a few other cars were parked outside.

"you stay in here, i'll be quick." he told you.

"oh, okay." you decided not to question it.

to entertain yourself, you got out your sketchbook that you've always carried around with you. everything you draw is basically a keepsake. you see it as having memories between the pages. you decided to draw the inside of eddie's truck as you waited.

-

minutes went by and it seemed like you were waiting for years, so you decided to just see what was going on.

you slowly opened the pub door to see eddie and two other men. one of them was sweeping, and eddie and the other man were at the pool table.

"ma'am, are you allowed to be in here right now?" the sweeping man asked you. that made the other two look your way.

"i told you to stay in the truck y/n." eddie stopped what he was doing.

"i just wanted to know what was taking so long." you crossed your arms and leaned against a table near the pool table.

the man playing with him chimed in, "so eddie, you didn't tell your pet here about your little game?"

that caught your attention.

"is something wrong or-?" you questioned. the last thing you wanted to do was intervene on whatever was going on.

"nothin's wrong sweetie, a man has gotta get his money somehow right? i think eddie might be a little unlucky today." the man grinned at him.

you never expected this from eddie. these dudes didn't seem very well-mannered or very respectful overall.

you walked a little closer to the pool table, keeping your eyes on eddie.
