y/n: "That you liked me?"
soobin: "...that I needed to eat at your dad's diner more."
y/n: "Wha--"
soobin: "I needed to eat there more often so that I could see you again."
y/n: (smiles) "I like that answer better."
soobin: "It didn't take me that long to fall for you. I realized you always helped me in class and you'd been there the whole time, but I'd just been caught up in my own world." (squeezes hand) "I don't know what I would've done without you that night."
y/n: "Don't say that. You would've moved on. You're strong."
soobin: "I would've moved on, sure, but you made me feel better. You were a good friend to me, above everything else."
y/n: "I hear the best relationships start out as friendships."
soobin: "What do you think? Are we living proof of that?"
y/n: "In this universe, we are."
soobin: "Huh?"
y/n: "I mean, yes, we are. Oh, look, there's the new restaurant!"
soobin: "Wow, it looks pretty packed. And the food looks so good."
y/n: "I'm surprised there's no line. Let's tell the front server we want a table."
soobin: "Right. Um, excuse me?"
server: (turns around) "Yes?"
soobin: "Could we--"
y/n: "You!"
soobin: "....do you know each other?"
vinka: "No, I don't believe so."
y/n: So this is how we're gonna play.
y/n: "Right..... no, sorry, I thought you were someone I knew. Never mind. Sorry."
vinka: "That's alright. Table for two?"
soobin: "Yes, please."
vinka: "Wonderful. Our tables are a bit full at the moment but we also have seating in our karaoke rooms."
soobin: "Your what?"
vinka: "Our karaoke rooms. That's our restaurant theme."
y/n: "We'll take it. Thank you."
vinka: "Great. Right this way."
soobin: (whispers) "You wanted to go to a karaoke themed restaurant?"
y/n: "Mhm. I just felt like singing."
soobin: "I've barely heard you sing except for in the shower."
y/n: "You've heard me while I was in the shower?"
soobin: "Yeah. Remember, last December--"
y/n: "I-I remember, I remember."
y/n: I really am going to have an aneurysm with the kinds of memories we have together in this universe.
vinka: "Here you go. Your server will be with you shortly."
soobin: "Thank you."
[VINKA leaves]
soobin: "It's like a light show in here with the disco ball and all the colors."
y/n: "Gotta love karaoke rooms, right?"
soobin: "There's no door for these rooms."
y/n: "That's okay, no one will even notice us. It's pretty loud as it is. So, what do you think you're gonna order?"
soobin: "I think this bacon and cheese burger. You?"
y/n: "They have a pepper jack cheese and avocado burger."
soobin: "Can you split some of your avocado with me?"
y/n: "I'll even give you the tomatoes."
soobin: "That's my girl."
y/n: (grins)
soobin: "Hey, you said you wanted to sing."
y/n: "Oh. Right."
y/n: God, why did I think this was a good idea again... he should have brought ear plugs...
soobin: "Here, they have a karaoke song book. You can look through that."
y/n: "Right. Um... let's see here... they have so many different songs. I can't choose. Will you choose one for me?"
soobin: "Okay... how about this one? Number 3476."
y/n: "I'll punch it in. 3-4-7-6."
[karaoke begins]
y/n: "Can you start off the song? I kind of forget how this one goes."
soobin: "But--"
y/n: "Pretty please? For me? It's just us in this room."
soobin: (sighs) "Just one verse."
y/n: "Just one verse."
soobin: (clears throat) "Help me, it's like the walls are caving in / Sometimes I feel like giving up but I just can't / It isn't in my blood..."
y/n: (claps furiously)
soobin: "Here you go."
y/n: "But that was so good! You can't stop there."
soobin: "It was okay."
y/n: "It was great."
soobin: "...really?"
y/n: "Really. Plus, I can tell. You like it. The singing."
soobin: "I guess so... yeah, I do..."
y/n: "This is just for fun, right? I won't film anything. Hurry, before the song ends."
soobin: (smiles) "Okay."
y/n: His singing. His voice. This is where we start.
