"Don't get me wrong. You have other amazing qualities, but you can't blame everyone for being captured by your beauty first. It's hard to miss."
I scoffed at his remark.
I'd heard it a million times. Which is why I was still a virgin. All these guys wanted was a piece of my pie and if I ever gave them a slice, nine times out of ten I'd be left with dirty dishes and a whole lot of regret.
I wasn't prepared to be disappointed again.
"Qualities like what Allen?" I said trying to catch him while he was off his square. There was no way I was going to fall for sweet nothings.
"Well, for one you're very athletic. That day on the field you gave me a run for my money. I was beyond impressed." He began.
"Your a smart girl both in school and out. I can tell you're very family oriented by how close you and Se' are. Plus you're laid back. You don't need to be the center of attention all the time. I like that."
I shook my head. It wasn't my first time hearing that either.
"Another thing..." he began. "I've been wanting to ask you to Homecoming forever."
Embarrassed, I covered my face.
"Why didnt you just ask me?" My cheeks turned hot.
Allen was a really good looking guy.
"I thought you would turn me down. Luckily Alise' and Carmen saved my ass."
We laughed again as he pulled into the parking lot.
How could he had known where to find the dress stores before I?
We met at the back of the car as he extended his arm for me to grasp. I tossed my arm around his and we made our way to the entrance.
Allen was tall and very muscular for his age.
As we entered the store a pair of girls caught my eye. They were staring me up and down as Al spoke with the lady in uniform.
The taller girl leaned over to whisper something in her friends ear before playing off a dramatic laugh.
Attention seekers.
"Ignore them. Their old friends." Allen interjected as he caught on to what was going on.
"I dumped their friend." We headed towards the opposite direction, "they're probably going to gossip about you later. Hey what do you think of red or a Maroon color?"
Looking at him gave me assurance that this was going to be a fun.
Dress shopping was never anything I was into. I always assumed it was overrated and boring. It wasn't bad though.
Allen was about just as much interested in it as I was, and just about as impatient too.
We decided our colors would be maroon and black with a hint of silver. I'd never seen a prettier color selection. When it came to finding the dress, the only thing I was good for was putting them on. Allen had picked everything out as well as paid for them. To my surprise I liked that he had everything under control.
Bzzz... Bzzz..
Jaxon: Hey beautiful.
I scoffed. How dare he Hey beautiful me. However the butterflies in my stomach began to sworm as I read my phone screen.
Danni: Busy much?
Jaxon: Yeah.
Jaxon: Work & stuff. You?
