Jaxon.

I watched as Amaya pulled up to the Vallet. She placed one foot after the other on the ground. Holding onto my forearm I escorted her to the entrance of the building.

We made our way past security to the elevator before I got a chance to fully see what she was wearing. Stunning. Her frame was fit and curvy. Which complimented her outfit tremendously.

"What did you have in mind tonight?" I asked.

Typically I'd never take a woman out. Dates just weren't my thing anymore. It was something about Amya though. She wasn't my typical type. Over the weekend we spent so much time isolated from the outside world, I wanted to see what a day out would be like.

"I'm not sure." She smirked. "I've told you. I've never really gone out."

The sincerity in her voice and the innocent look in her eyes that stirred a storm within me.

"Well lucky for you, I happen to be the 'Outting King'". I tried to sound funny.

She makes me nervous.

I'd been anticipating this moment all morning. Barely being able to pay attention to work-anxious just to see her again.

"I was thinking dinner first." I announced. "Are you hungry?"

Her eyes lit up the sky.

"I'm starving actually."

After we entered my condo, I ran to the closet to retrieve my jacket and car keys. I closed my laptop and dimmed the lights.

"Sorry. It's been a long day at work." I said apologizing for how unorganized I was.

"Don't be. I believe I'm worse." She joked.

The air was tense as I opened the car door for her to enter. She eyed me awkwardly as I tried to be a gentleman. I felt so strange.

"Thank you" she said again.

It wasn't like I was counting but that was the fourth thank you I'd received since we left upstairs.

"I'm so nervous."

"Why?" I asked relieved I wasn't alone.

"Not saying that this is a date, but... it's my first." She said.

My chest felt tight as I realized the sentimental value of this night. The pressure was on now. What was I doing?

The sky fell dark as the lights of Midtown Detroit lit the skyline. Amya stood in Awe as we approached The Restaurant. It was one of Detroits most historical buildings, standing tall for over a century.

"Are you sure you want to eat here? It's pretty expensive." She asked.

I smiled at her concern.

"Do you want to eat somewhere else? It's okay. I'm paying."

Her expression dropped.

"I can't let you do that Jaxon. It's a castle for crying out loud."

"Its fine Amya, really."

She looked confused. "I-I've never been in a place like this before." She cooed.

I felt a different kind of warmth inside realizing  the impression I was leaving on this girl. Nostalgic even.

"Do you want to take a picture?" I asked.

Her jaw dropped again.

"Really?" She squealed.
