Dannielle

It took everything in my will power to stay away from Jaxon.

I was growing tired of him calling me Amaya. My nightmares of my mother had been replaced with dreams of him calling my name. It was becoming outrageous.

Rolling over I checked to see if he had sent me a 'Goodmorning' text. He hadn't.

I was more than annoyed by how often I thought about him. Clearly he wasn't thinking about me. I hated him. Why would he even enter my life if he was going to leave.

Danni: A warning would've been nice.

There was no valid reason for disappearing for two weeks after what seemed to be a good night. I was prepared for all the bull shit excuses he could possibly have had. Though I didn't expect anything from him I still wanted an explanation. Moments later I received a message only it was from Allen instead.

Allen: Hey Danni.

We had exchanged numbers the day we agreed to go to Homecoming, but he'd never used it.

Danni: Hey. What's up?

Allen: Are you busy today?

Danni: I don't have any plans.

Allen: want to go shopping for Homecoming?

Danni: Yeah, sure.

Allen: I'll be over in an hour.

It was nine a.m on a Saturday. Who the hell is up and out at nine a.m. on a Saturday?

*****

I was walking out the door the very moment Allen arrived.

His car was nice.

"Now how can a high school senior afford a nice car like this?" I joked as I entered his car.

He laughed as we pulled off.

"I stole it." He said blunt.

"Are we seriously driving in a stolen car right now?"

Nothing.

"Let me out!" As soon as I placed my hand on the handle Allen burst out in laughter.

"Relax princess I'm kidding." He looked at me. "I pay a decent car note for this car. Only one more year to go." He explained as I regained my composure.

He continued to laugh at me.

"What a way to break the Ice, huh?" He stated.

Shaking my head I couldn't help but join him in laughter.

"What colors did you have in mind?" I asked him.

It sounded so girly coming from my lips. I still couldnt believe I was even going to Homecoming.

"The choice is really up to you. I look good in anything." He said.

Full of himself much?

"I'm just trying to sound confident here. Truth is you make me nervous as hell, and I never get nervous."

"And why would I make you nervous, Al? I'm literally a nobody." I responded.

He cleared his throat.

"Look at you, Danni. You're stunning."

It was evident that I was an attractive girl. But that was just it. I was another pretty face. I had the same issues as anyone else. Besides I was far from perfect.
