Ch.11

Laughter filled the room.
I had won 7 out of the 10 games we played we finally ended with a draw.
"I haven't seen that kind of chess moves in years." Thomas laughed
Jack high fived me.
But Thomas's smile half dropped. And I could see sadness in his eyes after he said that. But he covered it with a fake smile.
Something seemed off.
"You alright?"I asked
"No, He got bet by a girl, look He's even crying." Jack laughed
Thomas fake laughed as a joke but the few tears that came out felt real to me. Jack couldn't tell. He just laughed.

We laughed a little longer then went on to watching another movie that I couldn't care less about.
Jack sat on the end of the couch . I sat near the middle and Thomas sat close to me.

We sat there watching the movie until it ended.
"Well that was even better this time." jack said then jumped up

Jack walked over to a corner of Thomas room I didn't explore yet.
"Aren't you guys full of energy?
He started to jump up and down but not on the floor, he was jumping on a trampoline. It wasn't a full size one, but it was a small one either it could probably fit 2 people on it at once.

"Ummm, no" Thomas answered jack with sleepy eyes.

"Oh, well you to can talk while I jump!" Jack said

Thomas and I sat there for a little while in silents. Then he finally spook up.
"Sooo. Uhhh, when is the next book club meeting?" Thomas said randomly

"The next book club meeting, Thomas, when did you start caring about books?" Jack said
Thomas looked at jack with a face telling Jack to be quiet.
"It is to night but I was going to skip it." I said looking down, I wasn't going to skip it I was just planning on being dead by then...
"What time?" Thomas said
" 8:45pm" I answered
" well it's only 8:35 we can make it" Thomas said
"We... I ain't goin to no book club." Jack announced
"You are cause I am." Thomas said
"No way man! I hate reading!" Jack almost yelled

Wow! I didn't think anyone could hate reading it's that one place you can go to escape, sure it's just for alittle while but it worth it.

"What's it even like?...we go in a house and read?"
"I don't know but I'm not going in there alone!" Thomas whispered
"Ugh all these things I do for you." Jack said
" hey can you go tell Cal that we are leaving." Thomas asked jack
" it don't look like your legs are broken bro?" Jack said
"Please?" Thomas said while stopping the movie.
Jack groaned but got off the trampoline
"Lazy bum" he said while leaving

Thomas took the movie out and put it away.
"We can just skip the book club meeting." I said quietly
"No, no we're going." Thomas said
"But what is it like?" Thomas added
"Ummm," I said
I didn't know what to say.
"Like how many people are in the club?" Thomas said
"Two" I said in a whisper
We stood there for a little while in awkward silence.
"Well I don't have to worry about being shy." Thomas said with a smile.
"So what do you do in book club, just read?" He added
"Well no, technology it's the book club art club, music club and engineering club, but no one else joined those clubs so they combined them." I answered
" We have a music club? " Thomas said with shock
" Ya, Ms. Flash, has all kinds of Instruments in her basement." I said
"That's cool." Thomas said hiding his excitement.
It went into an awkward silents
"Soooo, are your hands doing alright?" Thomas voice echoed in the air
He reached out his hands and I showed him my hands, he cheek under the wrappings.
"It's starting to look better. Luckily the glass wasn't deep." Thomas said

"They still sting alittle" I confessed

He patted my hands, softly.
Then I looked into his beautiful crystal blue eyes. His hair was perfectly placed. His teeth were perfectly white and straight.
He seemed like he was getting closer to me but, I couldn't tell.
But I knew he was looking at me the same way I was looking at him.
Wait was he getting closer?
I think he is? And I think I'm ok with it.

Jack walked in

"Ok, cal said it was fine if we went to the darn book club."

Thomas and I broke eye contact. And back away from each other.
I'm stomach twisted
Would he of kissed me if jack didn't walk in?
It didn't matter I liked him close. It felt like someone was there for me, I wasn't alone, someone cared.
"So are we going to go?" Jack asked
"Uh " Thomas's clear his voice
"Ya" he said
"Well then let's go!" Jack yelled while leaving the room.
I looked at Thomas and Thomas looked at me, and ginned
"Come on let's go." Thomas said while taking my hand and leading me out the door.
