I sighed as I watched my long time crush, Mako, and the avatar, Korra, walk down the street hand-in-hand. It was different than usual, they seemed less lovey and more showy.
I turned away before he could see me watching. I went back to drinking my tea. I felt somebody sit down. I kept my gaze on the spot on the table in front of me.
"Kadence."the voice of Mako spoke. I looked up and smiled at Mako. A fake smile. I don't think he noticed, if he did he didn't say anything.
"Hello Mako."I said. I propped myself on my elbow I looked at him,"How's it going with the Avatar?"I asked.
"Erm, I, uh... Fine."he said stumbling over his words.
"Hmm. I see."I said not believing him. I turned my head and saw a girl going up on the stage to sing.
She started sing a song called "Shark In The Water" by VV Brown.
"You should go up there."Maki said.
"No. I couldn't. I mean, I'm not the best singer."I said and looked at my tea.
"I'm just saying, I think it would be good."he said.
"Well, I guess I could go up there. It'll be a way to let...someone...know and hear my feelings."I said quietly.
"I think that would be good. I mean, they should, um, know."he said. Was it me or did he sound a little depressed. But, why would he? He has Avatar Korra. Right?
"Ok. I will."I said. The girl stopped sing an everyone clapped. I walked to the DJ and told him my song.
"Ok everybody. This is Kadence and she's gonna sing You Belong With Me."he announced.
I walked on stage and grabbed the mic,"Hey everyone. This is dedicated to a special someone who I care for deeply...

You belong with me."The whole time i was up there I was looking him in the eyes. I blushed and quickly rushed off stage as the place erupted in applause.
I dared to glance at Mako. He looked astonished and his eyes bore into mine. I quickly looked away and ran out of there.
I ran out to the street and and the tears finally erupted. I just ruined a friendship that could never be replaced! Not only that but...he will just go back to Korra.
"Kadence?"I heard from behind me. I wiped my face and turned to to see Mako.
"Y-Yeah?"I stuttered. He walked toward me. I looked down to the ground, taking a sudden interest in the gravel beneath me.
"Who was that for?"he asked and lifted my face to look at him.
"Um..."I hesitated.
"Kade...tell me..."he whispered.
"Y-You..."I whispered back.
He smiled at me and leaned into kiss me....
"Stop."I said and pulled away. He looked at me confused and hurt.
"Why?" he asked.
"Your with Avatar Korra. I'm not like that. Yes, I love you...but I can't do that to someone... I'll see you around..." I said and turned to walk away.
"We broke up today, you know."he said. I turned around looked at him with wide eyes,"Yeah. She likes some other guy... and I like you." he said as he walked closer to me.
"Really?"I asked and looked back at the ground.
"Kadence....."he said. I felt his breath on my cheek.
"Mako, I-"I was cut off by him kissing me.
I was shocked but gradually kissed back.
"I really do care about you, Kadence."he said.
I smiled at him,"I care for you too, but don't think just because I like you means you can-"I was cut off by him kissing me again.
"You know you talk to much sometimes."he chuckled.
"Thanks for shutting me up."I giggled and kissed him once again.
