We made it to the house and quickly ran inside as it started to down pour. While running, Justin had fallen three times. I ran in the house, giggling like crazy, with him trailing behind, soaked in mud.
"Let me get you a towel." I let out an exhausted laugh. As I was walking up the stairs, I noticed a note on my bedroom door. I snatched it off the door and read it as I opened my door and walked into my bathroom.
' Dear Audra,
Your father and I will be away for a few days. Your father is going on a business trip in North Carolina and we decided that we trusted you to stay home and not do anything drastic. Don't have too much fun without us! We love you honey.
Love,
Mom'
"Hm." I shrugged my shoulders and walked to the shelf that held all the towels. I picked a big, white fluffy towel and draped it over my shoulder while searching for the guest shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Once I was all set I walked downstairs to find Justin still at the door sopping wet. The second he saw me, he smiled big at me.
"Okay, here's the towel," I shoved the towel in his arms, "and here's the washes. You know where the bathroom is. " I huffed a little and then smiled. "I'm just going to change out of these clothes." I said, and then left him to fend for himself.
I sauntered into my room and threw myself at the end of the bed. I heard the shower door being opened and the sound of the rushing water.
Justin is so sweet. I know I sound bipolar when I say this because he was treating me terribly just a few weeks ago, but, I've always loved him. That's never going to stop.
I remember when he would let me fall asleep in his arms on long car rides and in order for me to fall asleep, I had to twirl his hair in little circles in between my fingers, even when he had cut it short, I'd just twirl the little pieces at the nape of his neck. I don't know why, I just kind of felt safe knowing that I was in his arms.
I scooted myself off of the bed and practically crawled to my closet. I am so damn tired.
I decided that I wanted to put on my pajamas since it's already getting dark and its really cozy to just watch TV in pj's while it's raining.
I quickly threw on my pj's and sat at the edge of my bed. I heard the water turn off and the low hum of the blow dryer. That soon turned off and I heard the bathroom door open up and the opening of my door.
Justin was humming a song. I know what song it was, and it drove me crazy. In a good way of course.
Justin sat down next to me on the bed and took my hand in his, rubbing small circles over my knuckles.
"Yes."
"Huh?" Justin looked at me like I had two heads. I giggled a little.
"Yes, I'll be your girlfriend." I smiled.
"YES! YES! YES! FINALLY! You do not understand how long I've been waiting for this day to come." He smiled brighter than the sun.
"Oh I think I'd understand." I said under my breath.
"What?"
"Oh nothing. Just talking to myself." I awkwardly laughed it off
"Why don't we go watch a movie?" Justin asked, turning to me.
"Didn't we just
watch one at the movie theatre?" I laughed, also turning to face him. He laughed and shrugged his shoulders.
"It just kinda feels like a movie kind of day."
"Yeah...okay." We both got up and raced each other down the stairs. Justin won of course.
"AHA I WON!" He jumped in the air. I slapped his chest playfully and couldn't wipe the smile off of my face. He scooped me up bridal style and ran into the living room, plopping himself on the couch with me on his lap.
"What movie do you wanna watch?" I looked up at him through my eyelashes.
"How about a romance?" I suggested.
"Whatever you want." He winked. I got up and bent down to search through the cabinet filled with movies next to the TV. I picked up 'The Last Song' and popped it in. As I was walking back to the couch, I was about to sit down when Justin grabbed me and sat me on his lap again. I didn't complain though. I loved being in his arms.
About 3/4 into the movie, I found myself straddling him and bringing my right hand up to his hair. I grasped the little hairs that were long enough for me to twirl at the back of his neck, and slowly started twirling them.
I felt him run his fingers through my hair and lean back into the couch some more.
"Remember when you'd twirl my hair and that'd help you to fall asleep?" Justin whispered in my ear.
"Mhm." I mumbled against his chest, with my eyes closed, still twirling the little hairs.
I soon felt myself drift off to sleep with a smile on my face, after hearing him say, "I love you, Audra."
