astonished by the forest

sophie's pov:

i rushed to find the injured baby deer in our forest and i wonder what happened to its mother, its obviously not here with the baby unless it was invisible which to my knowledge of these animals is impossible. i rush it to the field to look for some help from the elders who had the power to heal and speak to animals im nearly fluent but i've still got a bit of work to do before i can speak it properly " mistress mabel this deer its its hurt and i- i don't know what to do and i have to get back to my post to make sure humans don't wander through" i was almost in tears at this point, i hated to see animals in pain especially when there only babies, it makes me sick what these hunters do but the mindset is oddly fascinating. i walked back to my post with worry in my heart and sit and wonder what it would like to be human instead of a woods fairy. "these stories of humans can't be true they can't possibly have claws and teeth that could pierce through bone, right?" I turn and see my best friend tanya come and sit next to me and interrupt my thoughts. "no there so much worse you know there single handedly destroying these very woods it's insane i wish they could see through my eyes" i giggle and snap back "and what only see any man within a mile radius for whats in there pants and see every animal as another  experiment?" she glares and knocks me off the log were sitting on laughing as i get dirt on my new skirt that mistress lydia made for me.

a few moments later

" sophie can you come with me please i need you to escort the baby deer back to the edge of the woods please" i get up quickly and my wings flutter in excitement as i rush to the center of the field and hold the deer close to me. " it snuggled me no animal has ever done that before!" mistress lydia and mabel share a look and what they say makes me scream"keep her she can be your familiar she obviously came to u for a reason"  i screamed out and flew up high into the trees before floating back down to my deer eating some of the flowers of healing in the field and  i start to run with her following me to the naming tree to make it official. i sprint past a shed i never actually noticed before and i stop to inspect it. " hunters.. they live so close to the naming field i wonder how long its been here?" i look through the back window and suddenly freeze as i hear a low growl and see a huge wolf staring me and my deer down almost like it can see me which should be impossible right? i shake my head and run towards the field with my deer slowly behind i look back to see a hunter staring at us intently, i slow my movements and i start to admire her even from here i can see her brownish almost black hair and brown eyes shining in the light " no we have to go come on!"

i stumble into the naming field out of breath receiving weird looks from the workers around me, i try and mumble out something about the hunter but all i can get out is " SHED KNIFE WOLF GIRL" we all turn as we hear a thud in the distance along with the sound of an arrow being shot a few moments later we  see jay standing there in shock as he walks to us sluggishly and hugs his boyfriend chris and cries out "they shot him they shot kingston and talked about skinning and cooking him those heartless bastards!"  chris tries to console him but it has to be hard to lose a familiar especially since jay was only new to the naming field and didn't know the dangers the hunters may cause. i shrug it of since there was nothing i could do and go to the top of the tree to register my familiar so she is bound to me. " i can't think of any names oh why didn't i think of that before flying up her im such a idiot!" i start to knock my head on the wood when a idea comes to me " i'll name her arrow! hi um can i please get one bonding registration form please and thank you" i fly down with my form and add the collar to arrow she seemed pretty pleased with the name snuggling me once its on. i start head to the entrance we all hear a rustle in the bush as we see the hunter from earlier with two wolves and another girl behind her appear out of the bush we all hide in fear but she just looks at me in wonderment.
