"But you shouldn't force yourself to eat it if you don't like it. Tell ya what, me and my dads will eat the tomato ones so they don't go to waste. Or we'll give them to the house elves, your choice." Draco compromised. Tyler tilted his head to the side like a confused puppy.
"What're house elves?" Tyler asked, taking another bite of the sandwich he had in his hand.
"They're like servants I suppose. They cook and clean...things like that." Lucius explained. Tyler nodded and pushed the plate to the centre of the table because it only had tomato ones left.
"Have I done something wrong?" Tyler asked.
"What? You haven't done anything wrong! What gave you that idea?" Draco replied.
"It's just...your dad keeps glaring at me and he was shouting at me and stuff in the other room when you and...Lucius went out." Tyler explained, pausing briefly to try and remember Malfoy Sr's name. Severus stood up abruptly, not listening to Lucius as the blonde told him to sit down.
"Yes you did something wrong! You broke into our home and tried to rob us! You then practically assaulted me!" Severus yelled at him. Tyler shrunk back briefly before also standing up to look Severus in the eyes.
"It was self defence! I was scared! People like you are the reason I have to steal to survive in the first place!" Tyler screamed at the pale man.
"People like me? What's that supposed to mean?!" Severus shot back.
"Rich bastards like you who think everyone has it like you. You think everyone has the luxuries of a warm bed and a roof over their head. To have food in their bellies and water down their throats! Well guess what? Because I've never had any of those things my parents are dead! I'm alone in this world and have to steal just so I can eat one meal once a month! I have nothing!" Tyler exploded, tears spilling from his eyes and down his cheeks. Severus was at a loss for words. He didn't realise the boy had it this bad. Draco pulled the small teen into his lap, who in turn wrapped his arms around the blonde's neck and cried, his whole body wracking with sobs.
"Shh, baby. You're okay. Calm down for me." Draco cooed into Tyler's ear. Lucius took Severus out of the room and shouted at him, telling him how rude and insensitive that was before the pair went back into the room and sat down, waiting for Tyler to be calm before carrying on with the conversation. By the time Tyler was reduced to nothing but sniffles, he was thoroughly exhausted.
"How about we save the rest of this conversation for tomorrow. You need some sleep." Draco said before standing up with Tyler in his arms. Tyler gave a little squeak but then just snuggled into the hold. Draco walked upstairs to his room with his father close behind.
"I'm sorry about papa." Draco said to Tyler as he sat the teen down on his black satin sheets. Tyler shrugged and wiped his nose on his sleeve.
"Don't do that kiddo, use a tissue please." Lucius said gently while handing Tyler a tissue out of the box on Draco's bedside table. Tyler just held the tissue, thoroughly confused.
"What's wrong?" Lucius asked while Draco ran his fingers through Tyler's hair.
"What is it?" Tyler asked, holding up the tissue.
"It's a tissue love. You've never used one before?" Draco said. Tyler shook his head. Draco took the tissue from him and held it below his nose, gently squeezing.
"Blow for me baby boy." Draco instructed. Tyler sucked in a breath and then released it.
"Not what I meant bubs. Blow through your nose." Draco corrected. This time, Tyler did it right. Draco then wiped his nose and threw away the tissue before walking into his walk-in wardrobe and grabbing Tyler some comfy, clean clothes: a pair of boxers, joggers and a baggy (well, would be on Tyler) blue t-shirt.
"Do you want dad to leave?" Draco asked.
"Don't mind." Tyler shrugged. Draco nodded and helped Tyler undress before redressing him and pulling his hair back into a plait.
"You can have a bath tomorrow." Draco told him.
"Bath?" Tyler asked.
"Yeah. To get you all clean." Draco explained. Tyler nodded and lifted the t-shirt up to his nose, breathing in the clean smell of flowers and Draco's deodorant.
"Clean." Tyler whispered.
"Yep. We can clean your clothes if you wanna keep them too." Lucius said.
"Clean clothes for Tyler?" Tyler asked. Lucius nodded with a chuckle.
"Yep. Clean clothes, baths, food, water...anything you need and want." Draco told him. Tyler smiled and hugged Draco's waist.
"Thank you." He whispered before yawning. Draco smiled and kissed Tyler's cheek.
"No worries love. Now get some sleep. I'll be back in a bit, I'm just gonna have a quick shower." Draco hummed, helping Tyler under the sheets and kissing his forehead. Tyler was out within seconds, light snores escaping his mouth and a content smile tugging on his lips. Draco had a quick shower and dressed in some basketball shorts and boxers before sliding into bed next to Tyler and pulling the smaller male into his chest, quickly joining said boy in dreamland.
