Light shinned through the windows of the coffee shop, illuminating the establishment, bringing a pleasant feeling to those inside. Most sat calm and content as they read a book or worked away at their computer, nostrols filling will the smell of coffee.

Behind the cash register, two workers quietly took and completed the orders of those that came in. One was a female, a 19-year-old brunette with dark grey eyes along with a soft grey hoodie. She operates the cash register and communicates with the customers. Her coworker was a 23-year-old man with rosy red hair and blue highlights. His eyes were a soft shade of blue and he worked behind his female friend, making coffee.

Unlike most days, there were little people present due to it being in the middle of a workday. This left both store workers bored with nothing to do.

The young woman pressed her back against the back counter, feeling the coldness of the marble touch her skin through the hoodie. She slid down and sat, her arms wrapped around her knees.

Looking up at the red-headed man, she took a long sigh proceeded to clear her throat, "Hey Kubo?"

He looked down at her, as he stopped cleaning his white coffee cup. "yeah?"

"wasn't the new guy supposed to be here like an hour ago? "

He furrowed his brows, thinking for a short moment. "I think so."

The brunettes jaw clenched as she rubbed her eyes in frustration, "Does boss know about him?"

"Uh yes and no...he just said to hire him. All I did was say his name and he gave me the ok. I don't think he knows what the guy looks like"

"That's....fuckin weird"

"Yeah, uh what's the new guy's name again?" He set the cup down and sat with his friend.

"I feel it was Yasushi or something. kinda a weird name...God, I already hate him."

"Have some faith, Kameko, Maybe he's not as bad as we think he is...sure he's an hour late but-"

"I get it." She gritted her teeth. "I'm just frustrated...late on the first day, I mean come on."

Kubo sat in silence, twiddling with his fingers nervously. "You are being edgier than usual...did you..."

"Did I what."

"Did you take your medication today....?" He laughed nervously.

Her eyes widened, "Shit." she got up in a swift motion and ran into the break room. There, on one of the tables sat a black backpack. She unzipped the front zipper, removing a bottle of pills. She grabbed three tablets from the orange bottle and tossed them into her mouth. Her gaze shifted towards a cup of coffee on the other end of the table and clasped it, gulping the cold beverage down. Her tongue stuck out in disgust. The taste of cold coffee stuck in her mouth.

The doors to the Breakroom flung opened. There Kameko saw Kubo and an unfamiliar man, one who looked to be a year younger than her. His hair was a grayish blue and his eyes were a dark shade of purple. He wore a regular school uniform, with a gray jacket, white button-up shirt, and dark brown pants. His face was plastered with an ashamed expression, his cheeks slightly flushed and his tie loose.

Kameko wiped her mouth and stared at him with a grim expression. "When did you get here."

His eyes widened and his face only became redder.

"You look like a fucking tomato, answer me or im kicking you out of this place." She growled.

"J-just now" The man gulped and pointed to Kubo, "He dragged me in here as soon as I came to the counter..."

"What's your name." She crossed her arms.

"Tagawa Yasushi and i-"

"No need to continue, I don't care what else you had to say. Now, tell me why were you late."

Yasushi stared at her, "I was uh...um, well you see..."

"Kameko..." Kubo Interrupted, his eyes staring directly into hers, "Don't pressure him. He's a mess at the moment, sweating everywhere. Let him breathe."

"Fine" She gave the man one last look before heading out of the breakroom, Her friend swiftly following behind. She walked up to the counter, her body noticeably shaking. Her elbows rested on the white marble and she buried her face in her hands.

Kubo nervously rubbed her back, in an attempt to calm her down. "Try not to get so stressed about this. We've barely even talked to him. I'm sure he's fine. We can close the shop for today if it makes you feel better."

She plainly nodded and watched as he walked to the glass door, grabbing the open sign and flipping it.

"All done!" He grinned.

Back in the breakroom, alone sat the man who caused this ruckus. Yasushi, an 18-year-old high school student.

He felt a shiver of sadness as he gripped his arms tightly. The fabric stretching as it was tugged. "Damn it, Damn it, Damn it..." he coughed. "I got this job by doing absolutely nothing. The least I could have done was show up on time..."

His eyes, a smoky grey filled with defeat and dread as he looks across the table in which he sat.  A black backpack laid carelessly, the exact backpack Kameko had earlier.

Nervously, he rose from his seat and stepped towards it. His feet shuffled along the ground. He looked back towards the break room door, making sure no one was coming. Speedily, he unzipped the largest part of the fabric carrier, beholding a silver computer, multiple books, and 3 unknown objects found at the bottom of the bag. He pulled out 2 of the same looking foreign objects

'I...shouldn't be going through someone's things... it's wrong and shouldn't be done on the first day of the job but seriously...what the hell are these.'

Both things we're cylinder-shaped, blue circular patterns were carved into them both and it just looked and felt expensive in general. There were no buttons or switches on it making them appear completely useless and impractical.

He slowly set them back into the raven-colored backpack and dug around for the final thing. He slowly pulled out a bizarre feeling object. It was heavy and metal. His gaze looked downward at the object...there he saw a fully loaded hand gun.

In a panic, he dropped it back into the fabric compartment, whacking the computer in the process. He backed away until his back pressed against the wall. "...what...what the fuck..."
