It Started With A Lie

--Chapter Five--

     "So bakit ka na lang biglang sumulpot rito at ginambala ang aking pagmumuni-muni?" muli niyang baling sa lalaki. He stepped towards her and she stepped back, away from him.

       "I saw you running along the shoreline.Naisip ko, it would be nice to accompany you." He keeps on stepping towards her. At patuloy naman siya sa pag-atras para magbigay ng distansya.

      She silently cursed nang bigla na namang bumilis ang heartbeat niya. This Rayven guy is making her nervous.

      "Mukha ba akong nangangailangan ng kasama? FYI, I prefer na mag-jogging mag-isa."

      She took one more step backwards when Rayven reached for her arm and pull her to him. Nagulat si Xandria kung kaya't instinctively, she pushed him, dahilan para ma out balance ito at matumba, taking her with him.

      A squeal escaped from her mouth bago siya sumubsob sa dibdib ng lalaki. She shut her eyes closed at pakiramdam niya'y nagliliyab ang kanyang pisngi.

       They were on that position for the few passing seconds before she realized that she was on top of him. She opened her eyes and was met by the man's heated gaze.

      She pushed to stand-up but his arm was tight on her waist. Pinilit niyang kumawala but he held her even tigher.

      "Let me go!" aniya rito, trying to avoid his stare but the man doesn't let her escape his stares as well.

       "Di ba as kumportable ang ganito kaysa sa mahiga ka sa buhanginan?" he asked, teasing her. She tried to get out from his arms again but he just laughed at her edging his face closer to her.

       "What...what are trying to do?" natitilihang tanong niya. She felt her face burning in embarrassment. Gusto niyang mag-iwas ng tingin, ngunit habang papalapit ang mukha nito sa kanya, she's finding it impossible to look away. Parang hinihigop siya at hinihipnotismo ng mga mata nito.

      "You have beautiful eyes," he said, almost in a whisper.

      Knowing that there's no escaping him, she closed her eyes and waited for their lips to meet. She waited...and waited...

        'Damn! What's going on?' her mind screamed.

       A few more seconds passed ngunit hindi niya naramdaman ang mga labi ng binata. All she can fee was his warm breath on her face kaya nagmulat siya ng mata.

     "Were expecting me to kiss you?" nakangising tanong ni Rayven at walang anu-ano ay itinulak siya nito, away from his body. Mabilis rin itong tumayo at ini-oofer ang kamay para tulungan siya.

      Embarrased, Xandria gave him a deadly look bago tinapik ang kamay nito. She stood up  and confronted him. "Why did you do that?"

      "Which one?" painosente pang tanong nito.

       "Why did you suddenly pull me?!" she's so annoyed na gusto niyang sakalin ang kaharap.

         "You keep on stepping backward. One more step and the waves will touch your shoes. I just save your shoes," and he winked.

             Sa sobrang inis, Xandria marched away from him. Agad naman siyang sinundan ng lalaki at pinigilan.

      "Wait!"

      "What now?!" sikmat niya rito.

       "Let's talk. I have a proposition for you."

        "At bakit naman ako makikipag-usap sa iyo?"
