Thalia's POV

Drip. Drip. Drip.

"Aah", I groan as my senses start coming back to me. Piercing pain shoots up through my whole body as I struggle to take in a breath which ends up as a wheeze. I try to move my hands to press against the wrenching pain in my ribs, but I only hear a rattling sound from above me. With blurry eyes, I try to see the reason for that noise.

After a few minutes, my vision starts coming into focus- enough for me to be aware of my surroundings. I see the chains that are attached to my wrists. I let out a sigh but immediately wince from the act.

As I survey my cage a little bit more, panic starts rising in my chest as I try to remember how I got into this situation. My thoughts get cut off by the pounding headache reverberating through my head.

I regain more of my senses as I start feeling the sharp bites of pain all over my body. My limbs feel like lead, my head hurts as if it'll split any moment now.

Suddenly, the memories of last night rush through my brain like a freight train, and I start remembering the cataclysmic events that led me here: the syringe, Killan, witches, blood; it all starts coming back to me. I furiously start pulling my hands, trying to get them free, but to my dismay, it just causes my hands to ache even more.

A lump forms in my throat, and no matter what I do it just won't go away. Before I even realize it, I feel the drops of tears on my cheeks.

Common sense knocks into me, and I try to stable myself, "This is not the time for crying Thalia, you need to find a way out of here, alive." My pep talk seems to compose me enough that I set aside the likelihood of how there might be a chance that I, most likely, can die. I remove such gloomy thoughts from my head and focus on a plan to escape from here. I calm myself and start thinking of just that.

Instantly the image of Knox enters my mind. I know he's not dead, as I can still feel the mate bond, but he was hurt quite severely, and I just hope he's...

My thought is cut off abruptly by the heavy thud of boots signalled me of an incoming person; when the shadowed figure comes into view, my heart skips a beat.

My executioner has come.

**************

Hope this little sneak peek was enough to pique your interest, for what's to come next.

I'm kinda curious to know your theories on this scene, like what you think is going on.
