Oikawa Y/N was the Queen of the Court, and for good reason. Being related to the Oikawa Tooru, volleyball flowed through her veins. When she was little, she would watch her brother set the ball up with perfect accuracy and want to be just as good as him. So she trained, and trained, and trained some more all throughout her junior high career. When she reached high school, she was by far the best female setter in the prefecture, and had no trouble becoming a regular for the Seijoh Ladies VBC (it was also nice that the setter previously just left because she was a third year so she didn't have to kick anyone out of a position). On top of her setting, Y/N has incredible serving abilities, better than her brother some might say. She has pinpoint accuracy and a very scary amount of strength that goes behind every single serve. Don't be fooled though, her receives are not the best. She has trouble getting hard serves up no it matter how hard she works on her digs.

Even though volleyball was a big part of her life, Y/N would always hold her brother above it. The two had done everything together since they were little, and so of course they were extremely close. Nothing changed when Tooru woke up on his 14th birthday (you being 12 at the time) with the words from his soulmate written on his wrist ("Oi, Great King, what are you doing?"). Tooru would always tell you that you were still his number one girl, and nothing would change, so nothing did. When Tooru entered high school however.. things got complicated.

You got to watch only one of Tooru's tournaments in high school. For days after, you heard how much Tooru hated Ushijima Wakatoshi, a first year from Shiratorizawa. You thought this little rivalry was quite amusing and got a good laugh out of it for a couple days. When your brother was done complaining though, you forgot all about "Ushiwaka". Tooru didn't forget at all, and he was reminded of his "rival" on your 14th birthday when you woke up with a short little sentence written neatly in black on your left wrist.

"You should've come to Shiratorizawa."

He had heard that exact sentence before. Right from the mouth of his sworn enemy, he refused to let that jerk be soulmates with his little sister. He couldn't let that happen. All he could imagine was his baby sister in a white gown next to that clown. He would not stand for it, not if he could do something about it.

So after that, Tooru refused to have his sister at any more of his high school games. This is of course frustrated her, but Y/N respected her brothers wishes thinking it was just nerves or something silly like that. With Y/N now in her second year she thought it was best to focus on her own abilities and team anyway. As the official setter, she grew very close with her team and shared a bond with each and every player. She also started to understand her brothers hate for Shiratorizawa, after going against them in her first year, she began to resent the female team. As much as she hated the female team though, she could resist watching some of the games the male team had. What could she say, they were all some eye candy. She never let herself get caught though, she left immediately after the game and didn't talk to anyone, knowing if her brother caught her she would be dead. Still though, she couldn't help but be a bit salty towards the males of the team. Her brother worked so hard just to get shut down by them all the time, she felt it was quite unfair. All of this just added to her curiosity towards the sentence inked on her wrist. Everyone who knew her, knew her distaste towards the school, so whoever her soulmate was must not have known her that well. Still, she told herself many times that if her soulmate said that to her he wasn't much of a soulmate.

Ushijima Wakatoshi was not the lovey dovey type. He didn't have time for soulmates and such, but ever since his 14th birthday he couldn't help but get a bit excited every time he looked down and saw the sentence written on his wrist. As much as he would deny it, he got butterflies thinking about meeting his soulmate. It was kind of a relief to him. He knew he wasn't good with girls and showing emotions and stuff, so knowing they're was someone out there that was perfect for him, his other half, was  like a huge weight lifted of his shoulders. With having a soulmate, he knew that there was someone who wasn't just interested in his looks or popularity which was nice, because not many people like him for him. That sounds a bit more depressing than it is, but it's true. Ushijima was always quiet, he doesn't like to talk, he finds no interest in it, he doesn't find interest in a lot of things actually. Volleyball though? He couldn't get enough of it. He didn't glow or anything when he played, but he just felt like he was at home when he was on a court, hearing the familiar squeak of the shoes against the polished floor, and the hitting of balls to the ground around him, it was where he felt at his best. But, knowing there was a girl out there who would understand that and love him for that reason just got him excited. He was fine with waiting for the day he meets said girl, really, because he knew that the day he met her, he would be so lucky that it would be worth it. So in the mean time, volleyball.
