Third Person POV

The attacker seemed to have lost himself in the moment. A grin filled with malice settled upon his lips as he held the camp counselor underneath the surface of the dark water. The sight of his body slowly going limp, the fight leaving his body, was oddly satisfying. Usually, David was never one to give up so easily. Now that he discovered people stronger than him exist, he has no choice but to let things happen. Well, stronger physically. Perhaps mentally as well.

Lo and behold, the attacker was none other than the cultist who happened to poison himself while in attempt poison everyone else around him. Daniel waited a good twenty seconds after David's body was rendered motionless to bring the redhead back up. Yes,  he counted. Just so a little water might get into his lungs. Though, he hoped he hadn't accidentally killed David. His intention was to just have a little fun with the overly positive look-alike for spoiling his previous plans. As in a little 'fun' he meant torturing the bastard until he couldn't think straight. Yes, Daniel would've gone for David's loved ones, but that would be the whole camp. Mainly Max. But he wasn't going to waste his precious time on some pre-schoolers. Xemüg was in need of sacrifices. And fast. Daniel couldn't remember the last time he had made a sacrifice. Well, he could, however it was a while ago.

Daniel could be considered a hypocrite, seeing as his job was to "cleanse everyone of their hateful ways." He was developing his own hateful ways towards this camp. If he could stay away, he would. It was just to fun to think about getting revenge, though. That's petty, Daniel. Moving on. The bleach-haired blonde dragged the redhead out of the water. He dropped David on the ground without care. He sat next to the unconscious male with a sigh. His cold, blue eyes examined the camp counselor for a long moment. It was dark, so there wasn't much to see. Daniel rubbed his jaw, which happened to be the place where he'd gotten hit as a previous struggle ensued. Really, if David had just given up sooner, none of this would have happened. Daniel took a moment to catch his breath.

Only the sounds of Daniel's light panting could be heard. It was a bit concerning since there wasn't much coming from the other next to him. Daniel let out a small groan, rolling his eyes before snatching David's limp wrist. He wriggled it around slightly. The feeling of the other males skin was cold compared to the cultists' own body temperature. He stopped playing around with the floppy body part, checking for a pulse. There was only a light thrum underneath the lifeless skin every now and then. Good, so he wasn't dead. Not yet.

The sun was beginning to peak from behind the mountains and over the horizon. Now would be the time to get out of this silly, corrupt camp. Daniel got up, dusting the dirt clinging to his hands off. His white clothing was soaked from the waist down. How troublesome. Though, he didn't doubt David was any better. I mean, Daniel practically baptized David, and seeing the light could have been an accurate saying at the moment. Poor counselor. He couldn't do his job in peace. Daniel then hoisted David over his shoulder like a garbage bag, frowning as soon as the wet cloth clashed with his dry ones. Now, just to escape going unnoticed. It shouldn't be too hard to sneak out since it wasn't hard to sneak in.

The sun was beginning to light up the sky, concealing the darkness of night once more. Daniel made his way into the forest—making sure he strayed away from the hiking trail—and began his trek back to the car he'd rented. He had no intention of giving it back, either. What was a grandpa with no legs going to do to Daniel if he didn't return the car? Run after him, kick him in the shins? The police most likely wouldn't respond to a pathetic call like that, anyway.

After successfully emerging from the trees with a human being over his shoulder, Daniel managed to make it back to the road, and not too far from the shabby car, either. Just his luck. Everything was going smoothly so far. The cultists' shoulder grew tired from hauling David around for an extensive amount of time. It was practically morning at this point. Daniel swung the car door open, tossing the redhead into the backseat very gracefully. Not like he hit his head off of the opposite car door. Though, Daniel showed little to no signs of remorse. He slammed the door shut and made his way to the drivers side, entering the car and settling in. He fixed the mirror to where he could keep an eye on David in the back seat. A small smile curved his pale lips upwards. It wasn't a friendly smile, though. It was one of victory, mixed with the emotion of hatred and insanity.

The blonde grabbed the car keys from his pocket and shoved it in the ignition, twisting it several times before the car finally started. "Damn this old thing." Daniel grumbled after pulling off. He'd have to say the only perk of this car was the tinted windows. No one would see his business, including the unconscious male in the back.

After what seemed like hours of driving, Daniel pulled into a desolate gas station since the car was in need of its necessities to keep itself running. He got out of the car, now making his way into the small store. It wasn't very spacious, but it had a few shelves filled with snacks and drinks, as well as a few car oils and such. Normal things that you might need when you go on the road. The cashier greeted Daniel with a warm smile. It was an old woman with only a few teeth, but she had no shame in showing her bare gums. The cultist simply gave a small wave back. He decided that he would take a few snacks and a drink on the go, even though he never ate too much. His diet mainly consisted of bread and juice. He rarely ate meat, and didn't dare touch the dairy products due to his lactose intolerance.

As Daniel was browsing within the store, David slowly sat up and peaked out of the rear window. He could see the man clad in white clothes through the window of the store. He had been awake for a good minute. Long enough to discover that Daniel was his captor. Though, he didn't bother thinking too much into that at that moment. His head was pounding and he had been varying between staying awake and falling asleep. It wasn't like he could do much anyway. Daniel would probably knock him out again. As soon as the redhead saw the other male look this way, he quickly ducked down and laid against the seat in his previous position. Hopefully Daniel hadn't saw him. The camp counselor never was too good at being stealthy.

Daniel quickly made his purchase, exiting the store. Davey wasn't as very sneaky as he thought he was. He could see the red tuft of hair from within the car poking up from the back seat. Luckily, the rear window wasn't as tinted as the sides. Plus, he didn't doubt that David would wake at any moment. Two could play at this game. Daniel proceeded to fill up his gas tank as if everything was normal and he didn't notice the other at all. Once the process was complete, he got back in the car with a smirk. Though, he didn't start it. He sat with his arms crossed and hummed and small tune. Daniel looked in the mirror to see if the redhead was still feigning unconscious and he was. The position he was previously placed in the car slightly differed, too. Oh, he made it so obvious.

"David, I know you're awake." The blonde finally said after a minute or two of silence.

1393 words.
