Chasing Time

*One week later*

*Luke's P.O.V*
                               
                                  Michael has been talking to Maddy for maybe an hour now and she still hasn't said one word to me. I'm not mad at her because she lost her parents. Maddy is scared to go to the funeral. She said she didn't wanna break down crying again. Cal has been waiting for Michael to come out of her room.

"Cal?" I ask.

He looks at me.

"Were you scared?" I ask.

He sighs. "I didn't know what was gonna happen. If she didn't calm down or if she didn't talk... I'm afraid I'm gonna lose her. She has so much going on right now, its not even funny. She lost her brother, then he came back. I found out she has a sister and she just lost her parents. They never said anything about her sister. I've known her parents since we met Jared and they NEVER mentioned her. Angie is her name."

I think for a minute. "I knew she had a sister coz I've heard Jared talk about her, I just didn't remember. You must have never listened to Jared when he talked about Angie. I like that name."

"I do too. I'm not mad she never told me. I'm mad because she's hurting and there's nothing I can do to help her. She's going through a lot of hell and she won't open up to me!" He says, frustrated.

"Did you stop to think that maybe she doesn't want you to see her broken? Yeah, she's going through a lot, but she might not want you to see her break down like that. Ash told me she kept pulling away from you and turning away so that you couldn't see her cry. Girls are like that, man. You should know that from Crystal." I whisper Crystals name. 

The doorbell rings and I stand up. Cal opens the door. "Can I help you?"

The girl has tears in her eyes and she looks a lot like Maddy. They look a lot alike, its unreal.

"My name is Angie. Is Maddy here?" She asks.

"Yeah, she's upstairs talking to Michael. My name is Calum. This is Luke." Cal points to me.

"Is Maddy okay?" She asks.

"Come in and sit. She sould be down in a few." I say, gesturing to Jared's old chair.

"Um... So I heard Jared is still alive..." Angie says in a hesitant tone, sitting in the chair.

Cal nods. "Maddy isn't talking to him right now because of how things are going down."

"What do you mean?" Angie asks.

Cal explains to her how Maddy is use to Jared being gone and him coming back just hurt her more. Maddy's undergoing a lot of stress and there's nothing we can do to help her until she asks.

Maddy walks down the stairs and pauses when she sees Angie.

"I thought you said you weren't coming home?" Maddy asks.

"I changed my mind. You were right. I'm the one that got distant." Angie stands up.

Maddy runs up and hugs her sister.

                        I finally got the cast off my foot and we'll be able to go back on tour. Ash is happy about that but he's not at the same time. He doesn't wanna leave Maddy here, but he doesn't want to take her coz she'll just be sad the whole time. Mikey called his mom and asked what she thought. Why he thought that would help is bey one me. I swear, we all wanna help Maddy right now, but there is nothing we can do. We have to wait for her to talk to us and let us know how she feels. Maybe she never will. Or maybe she'll open up about everything and then things will get better.

            Only Maddy will know what to do right now.
