Leaning against the counter with a cup of coffee in my hand listening to the weather man go on about the amount of rain we might have today when suddenly my phone rang. Its 6am in the morning I usually don't get calls unless it's from work so when I picked it up I was expecting a dispatcher calling me in to pick up a shift but to my surprise it was totally the opposite. "Hello good morning how may I help " the voice that came through I was not expecting at this hour nope either something important is happening or everything is happening. " Hi auntie its kaiden how you doing ". "Snowflake hey princess I'm fine is everything okay is something happening everything alright. " "Jeesh auntie calm down don't go robo cop on me giggles, am just popping in to say hey before you go to work ". I have to admit I was a bit in over drive for 2 seconds its second nature for me and kinda weird to get calls 6am in the morning, but it was nice I've been busy with work since everyone is off to college. " I'm sorry snow old habits , how's school going ." We spent the next hour talking about almost everything until it was time for me to go to work . She told me about her and all her siblings and all their achievements honestly I couldn't be more proud my kids give me a different kinda happy no one can replace . Hopping in my car getting ready to go to work I pause and I stared out the window the weather man was right its raining cats and dogs, but that wasn't why I paused. I paused because the question hit me 'what am I doing?' What am I doing exciting with my life anymore honestly. All my old hobbies are so non existent , definitely no romance here only friends I really have are camille and Soul, nobody really understands me so it's hard to met new people and trust them . Sigh I was always the misunderstood out of the group so I don't understand why I'm pausing now. Sigh I shake it off and pull out my drive way and make me way to work I was already late for roll call.
Finally reaching to base I entered the meeting hall. "Good morning A.Brooks nice of you to join us today." I was so not here for this shit this morning the worst supervisor is one this morning Mrs.. E. Rolle - Fox God knows I hate this woman she gets on my last nerves with her shit . So I take a deep breath " good morning Mrs.. Fox permission to join."
"Permission granted Ms. Brooks try to be more on time please for morning shift thank you." grumbling sigh sometimes I really wish I could disappear from this place . Roll call proceeded as usual and I headed out with my partner kristen if they even dream of changing my partner I think I'd cry like a baby me and kristen pulled up through the ranks together . It'll suck like shit because now I won't have my partner in crime been getting in trouble together since we came on the job shake my head so I guess you can say were spoiled goods. We got a 10 14 call on our radio to go check out one of the houses out east in Bali eastes apparently a alarm went off so we have to go check it out . Finally something to do I've been itching for something exciting and a reason to use the new skills Mr.Martinez taught the guard force recently . On the drive to the house I couldn't help but feel that wave I felt earlier this morning I tried to shake it off again but it wasn't working this time so I just starred out the window for the rest of the ride .
Finally reaching to the house to my surprise it was more that just a alarm going off. I actually couldn't believe my eyes someone actually broke into the house....
