^_^ Chapter 8 - "I assure you, I'm not Zane." ^_^
(The Next Morning)

The next morning Nana found herself cleaning the house for some reason. She had no idea as to why she was suddenly doing this but the man had insisted, that if she was to help pay rent, she had to do work.

"The times, I wish I was baking."she muttered as she picked up a dirty dish and set it in the sink. "Oh, that's right! I'm supposed to take him to meet Aphmau today! I almost forgot!"Nana shouted to herself.

She mentally facepalmed. How could she be so stupid as to forget, she was taking her friend?—Could she even call him that?— to meet Aphmau Lycan. Nana also mentally prepared herself for the sudden cries of Alina when she would enter the house.

"All the more reason, why I don't want to be a mom, just yet."she muttered.

She heard a series of footsteps as the man, clad in his usual outfit—which consisted of; a black hoodie and black jeans and black converse— walked down the stairs.

"Good morning. Sorry about yesterday."he immediately apologized.

Nana nodded. She remembered what happened yesterday. While they were eating breakfast, he deliberately tried to kiss her and nearly succeeded when Garroth Ro'Meave walked through the door —more like broke the door with his fist— and straight away, he yelled at the man.

She had to tone out their conversation so that she could call Aphmau to let her know that she was visiting today and was bringing a friend with her. Of course, being Aphmau, she asked who it was as Nana just replied by saying it was something she might know.

Truth be told, Nana wasn't sure he was someone Aphmau would know. She found her amber eyes staring at his outfit and lack —thereof— of muscles. She knew of only one person who lacked muscles and unfortunately that was her lover, Zane.

"There's no way, he could be Zane. Zane's been missing for years, no one's ever seen him since Starlight."Nana whispered to herself.

"Nana?"the man asked. "You were mumbling to yourself, are you okay?"he added.

Nana nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine Cowboy. I don't feel like going anywhere..."she trailed off as the man grabbed hold of her shoulders.

"Nope."the man shook his head. "You promised."he smirked.

"Fine. Just let me get my purse."Nana finally gave in.

The man let go of her shoulders as she walked over to where her makeshift bed was on the floor and grabbed the pink and black tie dyed purse by it's black straps. She threw the strap over her right shoulder and tucked her phone safely in the front pocket of the purse that had a zipper to zip it close.

She was secretly thankful for it's built in wallet because then she didn't need to carry one separate. Nana's amber eyes gleamed with a strange brightness that she had no idea where it came from as she walked over to him.

"Ready."she said.

The man nodded and made his way to the door, opening it to let Nana leave first then he followed behind her, closing it on his way out.

The two walked down the driveway that led up to the house, in silence. There were no words to speak and Nana didn't even know what to talk about; all that was on her mind was Zane.

"Zane Ro'Meave, wherever you are, I love you. Please, please come back to me."Nana whispered, silently begging.

Oh how she yearned for him to be home. To feel his arms around her waist. To feel loved by the one man she loved and the only man she ever did love.

The man walked in silence. He was listening to Nana's whispers and couldn't help but sigh and close his eyes. 'If only, I could tell you Nana...you mean everything to me.'the man thought.

He would've spoken but his phone went off with a loud bang. The man pulled out his phone and groaned at who was calling. His mother, Zianna.

"Yes, Mom?"he asked the minute he answered her call.

"Zuzu, didn't I tell you to come here? Gar gar arrived just a minute ago, said you still don't have a girlfriend yet!"Zianna's voice rang out.

"It's complicated, Mom."the man muttered.

"Still, as a Ro'Meave, you are entitled to be here...so get off your ass AND COME HERE!"Zianna shouted, loudly.

"Yes, Mother."the man smacked his lips as he answered.

'Good. I'll tell Garte your coming. Oh, and Vylad just showed up as well."Zianna stated.

"Fine."the man replied as he hung up.

He went to put away his phone as he saw Nana stare at him with beaming eyes.

"Well I can only imagine what you're thinking right now. It's written all over your face, you might as well say it."the man said.

Nana kept her beaming expression and said nothing.

"Come on already! Just get it over with!"the man shouted.

'That sentence,'Nana thought, 'it sounds like a sentence Zane would make...'she added mentally.

She kept staring at him. "STOP STARING AT ME!"the man shouted at her.

"Zane?"she whispered.

The man froze in shock. "Uh, no."the man lied.

"If I find out you were Zane all along but you never told me, I will feed you burnt cookies."Nana snapped.

She was nearly at her broken state of crying nonstop. The last time she cried was when Aphmau and Aaron had told her Zane was missing. She devoted herself to finding him but she never did, only because she had to give up for her safety and the safety of her child. That was her own secret, one that Zane never knew of and only her friends knew.

"I assure you. I'm not Zane."the man told her.

"Fine. I don't believe you but I guess I have to."she said.

Even if she didn't believe him, she had the trustable loyalty of her friends which was something she cherished.
