Klaus: Fiona can I ask you a favor?
Fiona: Depends on what it is? 😏
Klaus: I know it might be a little, uh, prying, but would your stepdad happen to have any old pictures from V.F.D. of his old associates perhaps...?
Fiona: *knows what he wants* Let me check.
*several moments later*
Fiona: Aha! Found something! *pulls an old picture out of a book for him* V.F.D. used to hold lavish masquerade balls at the old headquarters. Pictures were taken constantly and you'd get sent copies of them afterwards for your own use. ☺
Klaus: It's my parents.
Fiona: I could tell. I'm sure you tire of hearing this but you look just like Bertrand, right down to the glasses. Except for the eyes-
Klaus: Yeah my mother's eyes... Would you be offended if I ask to keep this?
Fiona: Keep it. If my stepfather asks about it someday, and he honestly won't notice it missing, I'll explain. Besides it's the least I can do for my new friends. Any more recent pictures you'd have were... well in any case you deserve to keep at least one.
Klaus: *puts it in his commonplace book* I'll show it to Violet and Sunny later when we're not busy. Thank you, Fiona, this means a lot to me...
Fiona: ☺ I know how it feels to have a small reminder of someone important to you. *touches her ruby necklace* Now get back to work, we've got a mission to do.
