"I know. I'm not dumb." Taiyo was slowly getting irritated with this slow conversation. She misses her beef with vegetables.

"Mori-san was at the crime scene that day. He blended in pretty well for a fox like you to not have noticed." Taiyo groaned, "When he saw that ballerina figurine, everything went into place."

Taiyo was confused, the forensics said that the figurine belonged to the child? "It couldn't have belonged to the child since the caretaker of the orphange said the boy never owned such."

"But one police officer said he owned it." Higuchi was now the confused one, "What? But the caretaker-"

A sudden realization hit them both, making them look at each other in shock, "Could it be the squad has a mole?" Higuchi nodded with certainty, "It could be."

"Wait. Let's not jump into conclusions." Taiyo finally let go of the blonde, standing up and pacing around the apartment. Higuchi stood half of her body; her legs still lying. The spikes was still focused on her even if the woman was pacing around.

"It could be that the officer was just confused." The mafioso nodded, "True, but the possibility of a mole is likely. Got any friends in the department?" Taiyo looked at her before raising her eyebrow with a smirk. "I have."

She grunted as she struggled to pushing Higuchi out the door, "Just- go and tell your boss that the agency doesn't have any info! This is the first time we've heard of the problem!"

"But- what about-" Taiyo gave her strength to pushing the blonde out, in which she did successfully. "Just," She sighed out, "Let me handle this, alright? I'm an old member in the agency. I can handle things well. Especially if it's an occasion this important."

Higuchi sighed as well, hiding her cold hands in her warm pockets, "If you say so. It was nice meeting you." She did a small salute as she slowly walked away from the apartment.

The strong and cold wind brushed through both the females hair. Making them tuck it behind her ear. Taiyo chuckled as she played with the small device the mafioso put. By the way the girl was strutting, Taiyo could tell she was proud on bugging her apartment like that.

Deciding to lower her confidence, she raised the device up and cupped her mouth to yell at the blonde.

"Gotta say, Higuchi-chan, this bug you put on my carpet is pretty cool!" Taiyo shouted back to the girl, making her whip her head around with widened eyes, "How did you-! Nevermind." She just gave up and finally walked away.

Taiyo chuckled lowly as she threw the small device out of the railings, going straight to the muddy land.

Closing the door and locking it, she walked past her dinner, quickly going straight to her phone that was settled on the kitchen counter. She unlocked it and scrolled past her contacts to find a someone she never would have thought she would call again.

The phone rang, and every ring, the girl's heart rate increases. She felt like a fool for calling him, but this was business related. She hoped he would understand.

He picked up, Taiyo lowly squeaked in shock. She did not expect that. She expected him to hang up or put her in voicemail.

"Hey."

"Mm, make this quick."

"Listen, I know it's late, but you're the only person I know who'll be awake at this hour."

"You sure? Ranpo-san's quite the sweet addict. He's probably having a candy rush right now."  The person answered back with a husky voice. One you would hear in the morning after a rough night.

"He doesn't know the way to my apartment. Can you come over? We need to talk."

The man groaned at the other end, the sound of clothes ruffling and bed creaking can be heard. "Can it be tomorrow? It's late, Kurishima. Plus I don't want to talk to you."

Taiyo sighed at the mention of the last statement, "It could be tomorrow, but just letting you know that someone has a page." The bed creaked even louder, indicating that he stood up. "What?"

"Yup."

well woopdie doo! this chapter is now just the beginning of the real story. meaning, more scenes with dazai will be up ahead (hopefully ^^) i like to build up stories to tease the readers HEHEHEH but hope you like this chap! kinda proud of it :)
