Chapter 6

Derek: "She is single and wonderful. She's smart. A lot of things. And she's none of your business."

Nancy: "Wow. Never seen you like this over a girl. Even Addison."

Derek: "I've never been like this over a girl. Especially Addison."

Nancy: "Don't be bitter. Shame on Addison and all that, but he's Mark, Derek. What did you expect? He's just Mark. And who hasn't gone there once or twice, right?" she says making the other two lift their heads up at her statement 

Sky: "What did you just say?"

Nancy: "Everybody sleeps with Mark. It's practically a rite of passage."

Sky: "Wow, ok." she says scoffing before grabbing her stuff

Nancy: "Sky..."

Sky: "I have to get back to work." she says walking out and Derek goes to follow her but Nancy stops him

Nancy: "Derek, wait. I get it, ok? I get that they made a terrible mistake."

Derek: "It wasn't a mistake. Nancy, it wasn't a mistake. It wasn't just one night. It was months. They were together for months. Didn't you know that?"

Nancy: "No, I had no idea."

Derek: "Then shut up about it and eat your lunch. And even though Sky is moving on, she doesn't need to hear about all the times you've slept with her ex."

Addison: "I've completed the incision and I'm going to ask you to move the top uterus to the side so I can reach the one underneath." she says as Sky stands behind George to watch the surgery as Nancy stands behind Addsion

George: "Got it."

Addison: "Now, I don't want to alarm you or make you nervous in any way, O'Malley, because you seem like a decent person, but I've got about 120 seconds to get Baby One out of Uterus One while you're holding Uterus Two. And if you so much as hiccup, you could tear the uterine wall and kill this woman's child, so, do what you can to be careful, ok?"

George: "Ok."

Nancy: "Wow. Look at that." she says in amazement

Addison: "Amazing, huh?"

Addison: "Ready to perforate Uterus Two. Scalpel?"

George: "Wait. My baby's moving. It's really moving. I can't hold it."

Addison: "I need you to hold her still if I'm going to do this."

George: "I'm trying."

Addison: "I mean it. O'Malley!" she says as the pressures start to go up

George: "What should I do? I can't hold it."

Sky: "You're sending her into distress. You need that baby to stop moving."

George: "How do I do that?" he asks starting to panic a little 

Alex: "Talk, O'Malley."

George: "Alex!"

Addison: "Karev, back away from the table."

Alex: "Talk to it. To the baby. To calm it down."

George: "Talk about what?"

Alex: "October 30, 1974. It's the fight known as Rumble in the Jungle. World heavyweight champ George Foreman is pitted against Muhammad Ali. His first major fight after three and a half years out of the ring."

George: "It's working."

Alex: "Foreman is favored to win. He's younger, he's stronger..."

Addison: "Scalpel."

Alex: "But he's not prepared for what later Ali would call a rope-a-dope. In the second round, Foreman comes out swinging. Ali's backed up against the ropes."

Derek

Derek: "That's not going to stay. You're giving it too much slack." he says finding Richard in a private room as he works on stitching his button back on

Richard: "You're blocking my light."

Derek: "You need to think of it as a basic corner stitch."

Richard: "I can figure out how to sew on my own buttons. I am a surgeon."

Derek: "All right." he says adjusting the light and sitting across from him

Richard: "Oh, for God sakes. You sew this and I'll get rid of Addison and Sloan."

Derek: "Really?"

Richard: "No."

Derek: "Oh. Fine, I'll do it anyway."

Richard: "I heard you've got a sister wandering the halls. She planning on moving here too?"

Derek: "I hope not." he groans out in annoyance

Richard: "I know it's been hard on you."

Derek: "He was like my brother. I had four sisters. Four very annoying sisters. Mark was my brother. Me, Mark, and Sky...we were our own little family.  It's hard."

Richard: "Divorce isn't all it's cracked up to be, huh?"

Derek: "I just want it to be easy. I want it to be over and move on. But..."

Richard: "You're in a surprising amount of pain."

Derek: "You and Adele?"

Richard: "I'm sewing on a button for the first time in my life. What does that tell you?"

Derek: "Technically, I'm sewing. I'm just saying."

Alex: "Dr. Sloan." he says stepping out the OR once the surgery was finished and seeing Mark leaning against the wall outside

Mark: "So we're clear, you knew when you stepped into that surgery you forfeited your future in plastics."

Alex: "But, Dr. Sloan-"

Mark: "I need my phone back." he says as Alex gives him the phone before walking away and Sky comes out the room

Sky: "Still want to be in plastics Karev? You're gonna have to put up with a lot more of him." she says leaving him to think about what she said
