Chapter 4

Addison: "This is why I left you."

Mark: "Thought you left me for Derek."

Derek: "I left New York because of him."

Richard: "He was your best friend. For years."

Derek: "Up until he had sex with my wife and broke my sister's heart."

Richard: "We all make mistakes."

Cristina: "Holy crap. Are you pregnant?" she asks after Meredith throws up in a trash can as Cristina and George help hold her up and Derek runs down the stairs

Addison: "Well, this is just perfect. An adulterous love child."

Derek: "Goes along with an adulterous sociopath."

Derek: "Meredith."

Sky: "Uh-uh. You've done enough already." she says pushing Derek back as Bailey leads Cristina and Meredith in another direction

Derek: "Meredith."

Mrs. Sullivan: "Oh, doctor? I finished filling out the paperwork. When do you think I can take Shawny home?"

Bailey: "Um..."

Sky: "Hey. I heard Meredith's having an appy."

Derek: "Yeah. I heard that too."

Sky: "Guess that means she's not pregnant."

Derek: "No she is not."

Sky: "Good. This thing between you two is already confusing enough. Would probably send the kid into early consueling." she says as he chuckles out a little

Derek: "Mm."

Bailey: "I was checking on the Sullivans. How is he doing because he-"

Mark: "You are?"

Bailey: "Dr. Bailey. We met this morning. I was the resident on Mr. Sullivan's bypass."

Mark: "I don't need a resident on this case."

Bailey: "I wasn't asking to be your resident. I was asking how my patient was doing."

Mark: "He's not your patient anymore." he says walking away from her leaving her stunned and she sees Sky standing down the hall

Bailey: "Him?" she calls out to Sky who looks up at the sound of her voice "You married him?"

Sky: "Yeah...there's a nicer side to him, believe it or not." she says awkwardly as she thinks about her words making Bailey give her a stern look before walking away

Bailey: "Since when do you get out?" she asks after hearing a patient yelling at Addison 

Addison: "Clearly, I am not myself today." she sighs out

Bailey: "Never would have figured Mark Sloan to be your type or Sky's type for that matter." she says muttering the last part to herself

Addison: "He's not. He's not. What is he doing here? He's not supposed to be here. I can't have him here. I can't...he's supposed to be in New York. I can't function with him here. I'm a professional here. People respect me here. But when he's here, I'm just..."

Bailey: "The woman who gets the hots for man candy and cheats on her husband with her best friend's husband."

Addison: "That is rude. And unkind. And completely true. Oh, my God, what am I gonna do?"

Bailey: "For starters, you can keep your knees closed in his presence."

Addison: "Miranda."

Bailey: "You asked. Also, you can remember that no man, not Derek, not Mark, defines who you are."

Richard: "Sky! Look, I know you're mad at me, but Mark Sloan is the best in his field. Any unit in this country would be lucky to have him." he says seeing Sky walking down the stairs

Sky: "You did what you thought was best."

Richard: "I did." he says surprised that she's not fighting him on the subject and they see Derek walking past with a solemn look on his face

Sky: "Hey you alright?"

Derek: "Can I ask you a personal question?" he says looking at Richard "Why did you leave Meredith's mother?"

Richard: "I could have left Adele. I could've gone away with Ellis. But I would have had so much baggage, so much guilt. Ellis couldn't see it, but I wasn't...I never would have made her happy. Not like she deserved to be happy. I was a better man for walking away. I loved her enough to walk away."

Sky: "Hey. You ok?" she asks seeing Derek sitting on a bench outside the hospital

Derek: "I walked away." he sighs out making her nod her head in understanding before sitting down next to him as he enjoys her presence
