Chapter 10: A Favor

            “Aubrey...” Justin sounded sad and guilty.

            Natauhan naman agad si Aubrey. Bakit pa ba niya binabalikan ang mga problemang naayos na nila?

            Tumawa na lang siya para i-ease ang mood nila. “Sorry, Jus. Bored lang ako ngayon dito sa kuwarto ko at nami-miss na kita sobra. I miss you, I miss you, I miss you.”

            Natawa na lang din si Justin. “Aubrey, alam ko na. You stay there, okay?”

            “Huh? Bakit?”

            “Just stay there, baby.”

            Aubrey sensed her man grinning. “Hmm, okay...”

            Nag-hang up na si Justin after an I love you, and she was left wondering.

            Anong meron? Bakit ayaw niya akong paalisin dito?

            But an idea soon came into her mind, exciting her.

            Hindi kaya nandito na si Justin? Dito sa Japan? Maybe kanina nasa airport na siya at ngayon, papunta na siya sa hotel na ‘to?

            Napaupo ulit siya. Ang puso niya, hindi mapakali sa excitement. Knowing that her man would come anytime soon, she decided to fix herself up. Naligo na siya. And right after she stepped out of the bathroom’s door, may kumatok na sa pinto ng kuwarto niya.

            Justin! She gasped in surprise.

            Naka-bathrobe lang siya. At ang buhok niya, nakabalot pa ng tuwalya. Pero sa excitement na makita ang nobyo ay nagtungo na siya sa pinto at ngiting-ngiti na binuksan iyon.

            Damn it. She cursed mentally when she did not find Justin on the other side of the door.

            It was not Justin. Rather, it was the jerk wearing a black suit, with his head cocked to the right while gazing at her getup.

            Inis niyang sinara ang pinto, pero napigilan iyon ni Chester at dumiretso ng pasok sa kuwarto niya.

            “That was rude of you.” Komento nito sabay sara ng pinto at titig sa kanya.

            “Wow. Look who’s talking.” Sarkastiko niya namang sagot. “Now, do you mind if you take your leave? You are already invading too much of my privacy.”

            “I can’t take my leave yet. Hindi mo pa alam ang ipinunta ko rito.” Chester crossed arms and stared straight at her eyes.

            Nakaramdam naman ng takot si Aubrey. She felt so vulnerable, knowing that she wasn’t wearing anything under her bathrobe.

            “Hindi ko pa alam ang ipinunta mo rito? Nagpapatawa ka ba?” Nanggigigil siya sa asar. “Eh ano pa bang bago sa tuwing nagpapakita ka sa akin? Aren’t you always on your haunting Aubrey game whenever you’re around?”

            Chester smirked. Oh that damn smirk. “Ahh, right. My favorite game. Haunting Aubrey.”

            Bigla yata siyang nilamig nang banggitin nito ang pangalan niya sa kakaibang tono.

            “But sad to say,” nagbuntung hininga pa ito kunwari. “I can’t play that game right now ‘cause I’m doing my best friend a favor.”
