"Aww" I hug her "I love you" I kiss her "but I wasn't a bad kid to raise"

It's always been my mother and I for as long as I can remember. My dad was sometimes in but mostly out. I don't really like to talk about it.

"You snuck out, came home high, and I'm glad you were gay so that you couldn't have brought a baby home so young" now my mom was trying it "but you know Kehlani is going to give you hell Nahleni"

I hate my real name! I make people think it's Nehlani or NahLani because Nahleni seems weird as fuck.

"Lani mommy" I say

"Lani child" Mommy say "your father reached out to me"

"Oh Lord" I roll my eyes already knowing my day was about to get so much worse "I don't have any money for anybody"

"Not money. He says you have a little sister and she's going through something" oh fuck no!

"We just got Hazels sister out the house" I say "we too young to be moving all these different people in our home"

"You mean too nasty" My mother correct. I mean if she knows then she knows

"I never talk to that man! Don't even have his number and y'all think I'm about to shelter someone else's child" I roll my eyes once again

The situation from the shop and now this. Hazel might have to throw some punches because I'm not in the mood.

My phone started ringing. Hazel was trying to FaceTime me.

I answered and made sure she could see my mother before she started with her reckless mouth. "Hey mama"

"Hello Hazel, how are you" my mama look into my phone

"Mama you don't have to be that close" she was trying to be so close to my phone. Reason I never FaceTime this lady

"She's okay" Hazel laugh "I'm good just trying to make your daughter happy and taking care of your granddaughter, how are you"

"That sounds good to me and just staying healthy child. I don't mean to pry but Lani mention that your in the hot seat" My mama say making me take the phone

"See! She didn't even know she was in trouble and you done ruined it" I roll my eyes

"Roll then again" My mama slap my shoulder a little

"I'm always in the hot seat, what have I done now" Hazel ask

"We gone talk. So, what did you need love" I ask

"I was going to cook dinner" Hazel say "and I was thinking a salad and then we can do ribs and something"

"We have no groceries at home" I say

"Walmart is opened" Hazel say

"Don't take my baby to Walmart" I scrunch my face up

My poor baby been battling an ear infection. She's barely been getting any sleep and the medicine the doctor gave us is wonderful but my baby still be in pain.

"I'm not stupid Lani. I sent my assistant with a whole list" Hazel say

"I want wine" I say "can you make that happen"

"I can make anything happen" Hazel say making me smack my lips

"Where's my baby" I ask

"She's in the back sleeping" Hazel showed me "she had an attitude"

"Why are you always doing stuff so she can get an attitude? What did you do" I don't care how many months my baby is. She will be treated like the princess she is
