I slowly blinked my eyes open and stared at the ceiling. There was absolutely nothing going on in my head. Weird, but refreshing.
I stared at it blankly for who knows how long until I heard someone softly opened the door.
"Emaline?" the person called my name out softy, as if to not wake me up.
"Mhm?" I answered, not bothering to look away from the ceiling.
"Oh! You're awake," sounding shocked.
"Yeah," I said blankly before tearing my gaze away from the ceiling to Trin. "You can come in."
She nodded, closing the door then walked over to where I lay. On my bed.
She sat down to my left, right on the edge. Trin wasn't facing me, but her back was towards me. She had her head down.
Abruptly, she turned around and leisurely laid on the bed next to me. I just stared at her as she crossed her arms behind her head and stared at the same ceiling I stared at not too long ago.
Just by looking at her, it was as if I was shot with every memories, feelings, and thoughts. I gasped out loud and suddenly sat up in bed shocked.
Trinity had fallen down from the bed from my suddenness with a squeak.
I paid no attention to get as I recalled what had happened earlier. Or was it days ago? How long was I out? What the freak did the Fae's do to me?! Or was it a dream? Did those things really happen? I don't-
"Emaline! Stop" Trinity frantically shouted cutting off my internal rantings. "Please, you're killing me."
I frowned at her in confusion. "What the hell are you talking about?"
"You're ranting out loud."
Oh. "Can you answer my questions, then?"
She nodded, "Yeah." Then began sitting back on top of the bed. "What's your question?" she looked at me.
I stared back up at the ceiling and and sighed. "What happened?"
"For one thing, you were out for a day-" Four days left, I mentally noted- "so you just woke up today. Yesterday, right after you...fell, Will-"
"Why'd you hesitate when you said I fell?" I interrupted her.
"Well, I can't really say faint because when you fell, your eyes were opened and you were mumbling some stuff." I frowned. "But no one could wake you up. It was as if you were put into a trance."
"What was I saying?" I turned and faced her. "Do you remember?"
She squinted at the ceiling, frowning at it too. "Uhm. Something along the lines of it being inevitable-"
"The change is inevitable," I mumbled.
"Yeah! You kept in repeating that line over and over. Then you started convulsing. And then you stopped, went limp in Williams' arms. Watching you go through that was terrifying," She shuddered, bringing her knees up to her chest and hugging them. "It looked like you were trapped in so much pain. And it felt like it was all my fault."
I studied her face while she talked. I noticed her her bottom lip trembling, making her voice tremble a bit as well. She kept her eyes down, brows drawn together.
"It's all my fault," she whispered.
"No," I said sternly. "It isn't. The only one to blame here is the Fae's." I leaned over the bed and wrapped her into my arms. "Don't ever blame yourself. Please."
I felt her shaking beneath me, in which I hugged her tighter.
"I just... Feel like it's all... All my fault."
