Chapter Two

We all stood there, staring at the two of them. We couldn't respond, how were we supposed to? There was a moment between them that was shared that was just unforgettable. I don't think I could've just wiped it from my memory even if I wanted to. I finally cleared my throat after some time and nodded,

     "All right...let's eat, do you guys want to stay for breakfast?" I asked, Axel turned his attention to me, motioning towards the den with his eyes, begging me to meet with him. 

    "Erm...no I think we should get home, our parents are getting back at around one and it's half past eleven." Anya spoke softly,

    "Okay, well, text me when you're home so I know you're safe." I replied. She nodded and Charlie opened the door for her; we watched from the kitchen window as his car sped away.

     "What the fuck, Aurora?" Axel crossed his arms over his chest. Sensing the impeding argument, Margaret excused herself and let herself out.

      "Axe...it's none of our business what Anya and Charlie want to do on their own time. I think we should respect their boundaries and let them figure this out themselves, you heard them, they just want to put this past them." I shrugged.

    "It's not that simple! He defiled her! He took her innocence, there must have been some feelings underlying, whether they were drunk or not. Mark my words Aurora, this will not be the last time this happens." He shook his head and walked up the stairs.

           It was now Monday morning, and I was getting my outfit put together, deciding on a navy blue strapless sundress with a pair of flats and a cardigan I smiled and proceeded to get ready. Saturday was a blur, I skyped with Margaret and Anya after they had gone home and finished some of my homework. Sunday Axel and I picked up our parents from the airport and spent the day at home with them, cooking and watching tv. Thankfully, I hadn't heard anything from Tanner so I almost deemed myself off the hook for that encounter.

       "Aurora! Are you ready yet?" Axel called as I sprayed myself with my last bit of perfume,

  "Yes! I'm coming down now," I replied, grabbing my bag and descending the stairs.

    "Come on, we're going to be late." I smiled, taking Axel's hand, kissing my parent's goodbye and jogging towards the door.

    "Race you to school?" Axel winked as we pulled out of the driveway, I laughed and shook my head as I pulled out into the street,

   "Only if you can keep up!" I yelled from the car as I sped away.

     Pulling up into the school parking lot, my tires screeched against the pavement as I pulled into Axel's parking spot, seconds later he pulled up into the spot next to mine and we turned our cars off.

      "You cheated!" he immediately spoke as he locked his car,

   "How was I supposed to know that truck was going to cut you off?!" I replied, hands placed on my hips,

    "Well...whatever," he walked up to me, poking at my sides until I was laughing hysterically, begging for him to stop.

     "C'mon, we're gonna be late." he smiled, taking my hand in his and leading me towards the school. As we entered through the doors, I heard a few late birthday wishes and received a few not-so-nice looks from girls.

     As usual, Axel left me once we were at my locker and I placed my books inside, grabbing what I needed for English and heading in that direction.

     "Miss me?" a voice whispered in my ear as I was walking down the hall.

    "Shit!" I exclaimed, jumping a bit as Tanner's arm wrapped around my shoulders.
