Pain. That's all she could feel. Pain. It was almost curious, to her at least, how it worked. Your nervous system sent your brain signals. It was the only thing she could feel, inside and out, except for when it took over. IT was the insanity. All because of those damned Woods brothers. If they had never moved to this town, she would have been perfectly fine, along with her family. Her family. It felt like ages, but was only weeks. Again here comes the pain. Everything else was numb. It was almost too good to be true. It was. Because sooner or later it would creep up on her. Sooner.
Ava Prior. That was her name. She was a very sweet girl growing up, with a kind and loving mother and father. Sadly, she was an only child. Ava did well in school, and got the best grades she could. But, the poor child didn't have many friends, and as a result, she was bullied. Not too terribly, but just enough to leave a mark and really sting. Then, when Ava was sixteen, things started looking up.
Two boys and their family had moved in next door. Because of her experiences with other people, Ava was rather wary of them. But she couldn't deny that they were cute. At least the older one. He seemed about her age, with shaggier chestnut hair, and startling emerald green eyes. He was rather pale, but not horribly so. He was also fairly tall, and kind of lanky, but still had some muscle. So no, Ava could not deny the fact that he was pretty good looking. It was another couple of days before she learned their names. Liu was the hot one. Jeff was the younger one with the same brown hair as his brother, but longer, with blue eyes. And it was that same day she found out that she was expected to stay around them by some cruel, twisted fate.
First, she had to show them around the high school, then they had to walk home with her. And then Ava had to go over to their house with her family because they needed to be "good neighbors". Lastly, she had to spend even more time with them. Avas mother and Mrs. Woods got along very well. Eventually, she learned to trust them, and they all went through hell together. Poor Jeff, she thought. He didn't deserve the terrible things that had happened to him. Ava and Liu grew closer everyday, and she was like an older sibling to Jeff. Then one fateful day, Jeff snapped. Ava didn't blame him. If those things had happened to her, she probably would have as well.
But then Liu took the blame, and was sent to juvie. One of her best friends, gone. And the bad times kept on coming. Because Liu wasn't there, Ava became Jeff's sibling. She was with him as much as she could, until one day she couldn't. And that was the day he snapped. And murdered his mother and father, and attempted to murder Liu. He also murdered Ava's mother. Ava watched it happen. She saw how he had changed. His once fluffy brown hair now black, greasy, and scraggly. His once beautiful blue eyes, were sunken in, with enormous black rings, almost like they were burned, and no eyebrows. The most astonishing thing, and by far the most disturbing, was the giant chelsea smile now taking up Jeff's face. And she watched, how his smile grew almost wider that night, as he ripped out her mother's spine, and swung the body around. After that she must've blacked out.
When she came to, she found she was in a hospital. Ava didn't stay for long though. She wasn't injured, and her father just wanted to take her home. That was the problem. Her father. He just wasn't right in the head anymore. After that gruesome scene that he came home to who could blame him? He decided that the best way to cope with the loss of his wife was to drink his problems and money away. Poor Ava. First school, and now this. Her dad wasn't exactly a happy drunk either. She had many bruises. Many more. One day, more bad luck was poured upon the child. Homicidal Liu decided to pay Ava and her father a visit. Ava had of course, heard of what had happened to Liu, but had hoped that it simply wasn't true. How wrong she was.
He came in the middle of the night. Homicidal Liu's outfit consisted of black jeans, combat boots, a very dark green button up shirt, and a black oversized leather jacket with a black and white striped scarf over it. His face was what had changed the most. He still had his chestnut hair, and green eyes, but there was a certain scary quality to them, one that absolutely terrified Ava. Almost like he wasn't human anymore. And the scars. All over his face, and hands. Ava guessed that they were all over his body. What made her the saddest were the scars that went up at the corners of his mouth. It was almost like the smile child's face, but stitched up. I won't go into detail about what happened that night. Bottom line is, dead father, Ava in the hospital with scars matching Liu.
Oddly enough, Ava was almost thankful for Liu killing her father. One less problem she had to deal with. She was doing well, and recovering in the hospital. Or so everyone thought. It was all a facade. That was when it was at its strongest. When she was released, she was sent to live in a group home. They made fun of her, because of her scars. Every night. Every night the pull grew stronger. 'Just kill them all' it said. 'After you've finished them off you can hunt. For Him. The one who ruined your life'. Every night. She grew closer, and closer to snapping. Then it finally happened.
It was almost as if someone else had taken over her body. She killed them all. 6 people in one night. Some of them were drowned in the showers. Others were decapitated. Some had eyes and tongues cut out. Those who were the most trouble were given a special death. They were to watch her. As she killed them. And Ava killed them by carving them open, with a butcher knife. They were still alive, of course. It had assured Ava it would be the most painful this way. Ava then sewed their bodies back together. Wrong. Ears? Let's put them in the eye sockets! Fingers? Let's replace the ribs. And of course, we couldn't forget the finishing touch. The skull. Always left where it was going to be seen. Because everyone had to know that she was a victim. Ava left her mark. As The Carver. A chelsea smile left on the mutilated body's face. Those damn brothers. Now she's ready. And she's hUnTINg.
