After a regular and boring day in school Sidney had come home to discover a couple of police cars surrounding her house. She'd asked one of the officers- "why are the police in my house?"

Her life had changed that day. The cops took her to the police station. All along she was asking what was going on. But wasn't getting a clear reply. She was taken in a room which had a hint of vanilla smell. It was warm. Sidney hadn't forgotten a single detail about that room till the day. A woman followed her into the room. She was a child psychologist. A councillor.

"Hello Sidney! " she said in a sweet and the most comforting voice.

Sidney remembered everything about that room, but not the conversation. All she remembered was that she was informed about her parents' demise. Her brain had blocked out the conversation. Or maybe had never registered it to begin with.

Since that day, she had been living with her old aunt.
