Jerry and Frank were making sure they had as much furniture and fuel they could carry loaded into the bomber. They had a specially modified B-29 Super Fortress that had an extended bomb rack. They needed this for carrying the extra IKEA furniture to far off targets.
They were the gunners of the bomber, and it was their job to protect it from all enemy aircraft. They were new to this bombing crew and didn't quite know the others on board.
"Where do you think we're going to go now?" asked Jerry
"We'll find out soon enough. We're taking off in ten minutes." replied Frank
They climbed into their gunner positions and watched as the ground quickly disappeared beneath them. They were flying until nightfall when the radio officer told them they could rest. Jerry and Frank knew that they would have a dangerous path ahead of them and talked only a few minutes about what they were going to do when the returned home. They quickly fell asleep and had dreams of how much tea they would drink when they returned. If they ever did.
