Skylar's POV

A few hours later.

"I am really nervous" I tell Ross as I clutch onto his hand. "Don't worry, everything will be fine" he soothed me. I stare at pregnancy advice posters in front of me. I read one and it read 'young mom?' That got me thinking..

"Ross?" I call for his attention. "yeah?" He asks "Do you think we are too young?" I asked worriedly "for a baby?" he trailed off. I nod still looking at the poster. "No." He said. "I'm 19, your turning 19 in January, the following year we will be 20, that not to young"

"Miss Skylar Jones" A mid-aged woman called. I looked to my right to see her brown hair and soft looking eyes smile. I walked up to her with Ross walking behind me, she let me into the nice clean room and closed the door.

"Hi Skylar, My name Charlotte I will be your midwife throughout your pregnancy, I will help you out with any quarries and answer any questions" She smiled. I nodded and lied down on the hospital bed. "So basically I am going to be doing some basic tests, She smiled as she washed her hands then placed gloves over. I smiled nervously whilst Ross held my hand. "You seem to look very worried, is everything ok deary?" Charlotte asked whilst grabbing a few things from a rack behind her. "Yes, I''m a bit nervous, that's all" I quietly reply.

"That's normal, It usually occurs with first time mom's" She winked and gave me a soothing smile. "Thanks, that made me feel a bit better" I told her honestly as I felt Ross tighten his hold on my hand and give it a soft, warm peck.

"Ok, alrighty I gonna need you to lift your top up" She smiled as she had a white bottle in her hand. I did as I was told and I soon felt a cold liquid drizzle down my stomach She put a monitor on my stomach and waddled it around, I smiled I saw the outline of a small baby. My baby!

"Can you see that on the screen" She asks as she points to it. I nod. "Well that your baby" My heart beat sped up and I heard Ross gasp quietly. "wow" Ross said amazed. "There are the arms and head, then the legs" she pointed it out on the screen.

"Well everything seems to be in check, the foetus is growing well, and everything looks healthy."She told me as she gave me a tissue to wipe all the stuff off. "I need to hear the heart beat and also take an internal exam" She smiled. " what's an internal exam?" I asked afraid off her cutting into me. "It's where I need to take a look at the environment the foetus is in, like nothing is hurting, no swelling or there enough fluid for the foetus to sit in. So I need to take a look at down there" she embarrassingly said. My eyes widened. "do you have too" I asked shyly.

"Don't worry honey, no need to be embarrassed. I have done this with many other mom's they where exactly the same, you will soon get used to it" She smiled as she put some new gloves on. I did not need to know that.

I saw Ross looking at me like he was going to burst like a firework from laughter. He wiggled his eyebrows and I hit his chest. I mouthed "shut up" he chuckled a little but continued to hear out for our little one's heart beat. 'thump, thump, thump'

"there you are, I couldn't find it at first but It seem your little one is pretty high." She smiled "Is that a Problem?" Ross asked concerned. "Oh no, quite the opposite it actually. Hopefully it will mean that she will not have any painful kicks when The baby need to grow into the birthing position" she smiled as she put the heartbeat monitor on her tray.
