Preface
Dear Reader,
This book has been a huge discovery for me in many ways.
Ever since the publication of this book back in the year 2017, I discovered that most of the women around me have, at some stage in their lives, suffered from physical and/or psychological violence from their life partner;
Interestingly, to date, although male readers of this book have expressed their horror at this 'newly discovered' violence, female readers tend to react as if this barbaric scenario were an inevitable 'fact of life'.
Incidentally, the term 'institutional violence' has now become more commonplace and society's reaction to 'commonplace violence' has been making waves globally. Graffiti is filling up walls, ad hoc street name signs are posted under existing street name signs as protesting obituaries, and Chile's 'A rapist in your path' chant has hit more than 200 cities. This revolutionary kind of action is what my book called for explicitly, especially in the last two pages!
'Just One Slap?' is an English adaptation of the creative non-fiction"Juste Une Gifle?" (French). Although the setting is France, it could potentially be pretty much anywhere in the world.
Like Ariadne's Thread, this book will empower you to tread through institutional labyrinths.

Just One Slap? (EXCERPTS)
General Fiction"Just One Slap?" focuses on two forms of violence; the physical and psychological violence of Katya's former partner, as well as the institutional violence directed against her and her infant child. The book doesn't cover all forms of violence again...
