Kocho Shinobu stood in front of you with a calm aura that extended from her body. “Kocho-san is there a pillar meeting today? Is that why you’re here?” Muichiro inquired with a curious expression that had planted itself on his soft features. He moved closer to you so he could stand in front of Kocho. “Not that I’m aware of, no” the woman answered him while tilting her head up to make eye-contact. “I came here to report my mission that finished this morning” she continued as she clasped her hands together. Calming down from mistaking her for Oyakata-sama you examined her a bit more. Her hair was clipped on the back of her head with a teal and purple butterfly hairpin. She seemed to be in her early to mid-twenties, but you wondered how she became a pillar. Her short stature would make it extremely difficult to cut the head of a demon off.

Sensing your eyes on her she moved her pupils to look at you “Is something the matter?” her polite tone of voice seemed to be mixed with something more vicious that made something crawl up your spine. “I- I was just wondering how you killed demons” you managed to stammer out a response with a hint of fear being evident in your voice. “My, my you forgot I use poison to kill them” placing a hand over her mouth she made a worried expression.

Suddenly the three of you heard a pair of hands clapping. All three of you spun around to be greeted by one of Oyakata-sama children, behind the child stood a man with black hair that extended to be just above his shoulders. There was a sickness spreading across his face making him blind. Two little girls with white hair held his hands as they helped him move to his seat. “My children” he spoke in such a soft and delicate tone that had he been telling a bedtime story at night you would have fallen asleep. “What news do you bring me?” the man in front of you continued to smile his kind smile as his eyes had a look of sincerity to them. Kocho was the first to speak having lifted her head up from the bowed position it was in.

“I have finished the mission you sent me on with no casualties nor wounded, the demons that had been terrorizing the villagers are all gone now” she smiled as she spoke, feeling proud of herself for completing her mission. “Thank you, I pray that the next mission will go as well as this one” having heard of success had made him happy knowing she had not died in the process. “I will pray for your health Oyakata-sama” she bowed her head as she finished her sentence.

Muichiro lifted his head up “We were sent to the East Village and defeated the demon that has been eating the villagers and demon slayer, but Y/N has lost her memories during the fight” his expression was serious as he spoke with a frim and informative voice. “I received the letter you sent me earlier, I pray that her memories will return soon” Oyakata-sama was calm as he spoke, his sincere voice lulled in the air.

“If I may, I request the Tokitos to come to my estate so I can try to help Y/N with recovering her memories” Kocho spoke as she raised her hand up. “Good idea” after having reported the mission the three of you made your way to Kocho’s estate. “My, my it’s been a while since we had other pillars come over” Kocho happily smiled as she led the two of you to her estate. The sun was shining bright that day with very few clouds in the sky. You glanced over to see what conversation you could start with Muichiro. He had his eyes up in the sky, looking for clouds with interesting shapes.

Having made it to the Butterfly estate you took in the new scenery around you. There were bushes littered with flowers that seemed to call beautiful butterflies to them. The grass looked extremely soft while you gazed down upon it, almost welcoming you to sit down on it. Amidst all of the greenery and butterflies there was a girl, she had a white hatori on her back. Her hair was done by having the upper half come to the side of her head with a green and pink hairpin resembling a butterfly, most of her hair was a midnight black with the tips of it being an early morning pink, the intense pink of her hair contrasted the sweet color of her pale pink eyes.

She turned her gaze away from the butterfly that rested on her finger to you. Her rosy pink lips along with her gentle pink eyes looked shocked. Soon there was a smile on her lips as she ran to you with her teary eyes. “Y/N!” she called as she embraced you. There you were, standing with your widened eyes surprised. You must have been very close to this girl. Not wanting to be rude you returned her embrace. “Is it true that you don’t remember anything from your past?” she asked you in a very meek voice. Almost scared to hear the truth.

“Yes, I’m sorry” you couldn’t help but feel bad for forgetting your past. You’re sure it wasn’t your fault, but how can you be sure of that? The girl backed away from you “I see” the sadness in her voice was loud and clear, she turned her gaze away from you and onto the ground that was between the two of you. In a blink of an eye she had lifted her head up and headed to the estate behind you. The guilt of having made that girl sad had hit you like a tsunami wave, in such a destructive way within such a short time frame. As you were led to the room you would be spending the next few days you couldn’t help but wonder how many others were hurt hearing that you had forgotten them.
