Lucy: what does that have to do with anything

Natsu: I just mean you are fun to be around with you don't treat me like every other fox I meet you don't see my fur but you see just me as I am

Lucy: well the same thing can be said about you as well you treat me like everyone else not like some fragile girl that needs to be protected by someone else you just treat me like another fox you play with me and laugh with me you even share your food with me you don't judge me for being so yellow or not being a good hunter you just see who I am in the inside

Natsu: *sits down next to her* well that's because there is nothing else to see you are not different from anyone else in my eyes

Lucy: but I'm yellow and I can't hunt

Natsu: well I'm salmon the most easy to spot color in the world I can't hide like other foxes can

Lucy: well maybe not but you have a lot of great qualities

Natsu: like what

Lucy: you can hunt you are strong enough to protect yourself and you are kind and caring you even jumped in to save me without even knowing me and you fought a wolf a wolf for someone you didn't even know I call that selfless

Natsu: *looks away* well I uh um

Lucy: *in a shy tone* natsu if you want to I mean if you don't have already someone in mind I mean

Natsu: *looks at her tilting his head to the right * what are you trying to say Lucy

Lucy: >///////< will you be my mate

Natsu: *turns on his back from shock and he has his legs stretched to the sky *

Lucy: 0.0 Natsu Natsu * she pock him with her nose* are you okay do you not want to be my mate that badly

Natsu: *stands up and shack his head* Lucy did you just say what I think you just said * moving his tail while he is anxious *

Lucy: *hides her embarrassed face with her fluffy tail* I asked if you would be my mate

Natsu: okay so I didn't hear you wrong * starts to think about it *

Lucy: look it was a dumb question just forget about it * turns her back and drags her tail on the ground*

Natsu: *steps on her tail*

Lucy: *stops and turns around*

Natsu: I don't know why you chose me to be your mate but I will not let anyone hurt you not a wolf or any other animal in the forest or does two legged creatures that set those traps I will be your mate and partner I will hunt for you and be there for you

Lucy: *her ears are standing up straight and she runs to natsu and softly licks the side of his face *

Lucy: well you are my mate so I need to mark you with my sent so other girls will not try to take you away from me

Natsu: not like that is even going to happen but I get it

Lucy: good so I will see you later natsu I need to go back to my hole to sleep I will see you tomorrow at dawn okay

Natsu: sure thing Lucy see you tomorrow then * wags his tail from happiness *

* a week has gone by natsu and Lucy has been hunting together and playing together a lot and natsu has been really happy to show all the things he knows to help Lucy become a better hunter he has been wondering why she always spends her night apart from him and he wants to ask her about it but he feels like it would make her uncomfortable *
