Chapter Two

Lucy couldn’t believe it. She was really in Verona again and everyone was here. Everything seemed to change. At first, she felt like a loner; now she felt this was a paradise. Tom looked so adorable. He definitely changed. Tom might look like a laid back surfer from Hollister, but he is sharp, like Silvia. “Hey Lucy,” Benno said casually, interrupting her thought.

“Hello Benno! It’s good to see you again.” Lucy responded while giving him a hearty hug. These four weeks were going to be amazing. She could imagine spending time with Benno, writing letters posing as Juliet, and having a memorable time.

“It is the east and Juliet is the sun!” Giacomo quoted with perfection. “Welcome back my dear Juliet,” he said as he took her luggage. He couldn’t help but notice a smile from Kate as he said so.

“Must you brag about how well you can quote every quote in the whole play” Kate said playfully as she took his hand and headed out of the airport.

After Kate unpacked at the hotel and changed; she headed towards the lobby. She couldn’t help but notice the glisten in his eyes as he stood up.

“Sometimes, he is too cute,” Kate thought to herself with a smile.

“Come on, let’s go. Everyone is waiting at Juliet’s home.” Giacomo informed with a knowing glint in his eyes.

Heart thumping. Sweat building up. Losing coolness. That’s right; it’s Tom like you never seen him before. He thought he would be less nervous since he was dating Silvia. It turned out to be wrong. It seemed Silvia was the only girl who could do that to him. They were touring Juliet’s home before going for dinner. Lucy and Benno were really joyful, and Kate and Giacomo were Romeo and Juliet themselves. Silvia was very chatty. He wasn’t talking much, but it seemed Silvia just wanted someone to listen to her. She had a cute way of switching from English to Italian and English again. “This is so beautiful for a romance or a good swordfight.” Silvia said dreamily as they were standing at Juliet’s balcony. Wow, killed the romance; Tom mused. But then, that’s why he’s madly in love with her.

Holding his admission, Gualtiro mused with a sly smile. “Interesting, that bastard, Giacomo, is also attending the same class as me.” He thought as he saw Giacomo’s name as well as his in the same row. Gualtiro never liked Giacomo. They went to the same school and both were pretty popular. However, one day Gualtiro fell in love with a girl in his class. She had light-brown hair with streaks of blonde. Also, she had the most amazing smile and a musical laugh. Furthermore, her name was breath taking, Rosaline. But all was a waste when she confessed she love Giacomo and they kissed. From that day on, Gualtiro vowed to have revenge on Giacomo. Now, it will be his time to settle the score. “I can’t wait for it to start,” he said with an evil smile.

Later that night, Kat and Giacomo sat at the park gazing at the stars. They didn’t talk much, but enjoyed gazing at the stars. At first, they pointed out constellations, but after a while they started point out random shapes. “Hey, I can see the North Star,” Kate said and pointed where a cloud used to be but now a star.

“I seen it way before you did Kate,” Giacomo said nonchalantly.

“Nuh-uh! You couldn’t have, the clouds just cleared out” she said matter- of- factly. Even though she loved Giacomo, she was still competitive as ever.

“Who said I saw it in the sky?  I saw the North Star on your neck! Duh!” He said, laughing hysterically. Never in her life has she ever felt as slow as she did now. She smiled and leaned toward Giacomo to give him a kiss. When he closed his eyes, she punched him with all her strength. When she heard him grunt, she smiled with satisfaction.

“And there’s my gift for finding the North Star,” she smiled sweetly and innocently.
