After dodging concerned servants, (Y/N) made it to her bedroom. She immediately closed the door behind her, locking it in the process. She walked over to her bed, shoving her face into a pillow and screaming. Once she stopped, she listed her head and looked in the mirror beside her bed with red, puffy, eyes. "A fucking arranged marriage! I never agreed to this!" She cried, letting a single tear fall down her face. In an attempt to calm down, she grabbed a teddy bear she had on her bed and held it tight, breathing in slowly. She clutched the teddy bear tighter, remembering it came from her only friend as a birthday gift. She used to have playdates with him all the time, until his father suddenly cut off all connections. "Whatever happened to you, Shoto." She whispered, freezing as a realization came to mind. "Wait, Shoto?!" She exclaimed, rushing over to her desk. (Y/N) threw open the top drawer, searching for something. She let out a victory gasp as she pulled it out, looking at an old picture. In the picture, was Shoto and herself at age four, smiling while hugging. She smiled as she remembered his kind heart, his signature red and white hair, and his passion that he seemed to carry with pride. All of a sudden, there was a knock on her door, making her quickly put away the photo and wipe her eyes. "You may enter!" She called, watching as the person behind the door tried to open it. "Wait, it's locked! My apologies." (Y/N) replied, rushing over to the door and unlocking it. The door swung open, only to reveal Mary. "Milady! Dinner is served!" Mary declared, making (Y/N) nod. "Alright, thank you. I'll be right there." She explained, watching as Mary nodded and walked away. (Y/N) walked into her bathroom and quickly blew her nose, smiling at herself in the mirror. 'See you soon, Sho.' She thought, wiping her eyes one last time before walking to the dining hall.

(Y/N) brushed off her dress as she stood in the ballroom, awaiting King Enji and his son, Prince Shoto. Her parents were holding a ball for royalty all around the world, so the ballroom was pretty lively. Suddenly, the chatter and dances stopped as a horn was sounded, announcing another family had arrived. "Presenting King Enji and Prince Shoto of Musutafu!" Kelly exclaimed, holding open the large doors with Mary. Enji walked in first, his cold stare falling upon everyone in the room. (Y/N) felt shivers down her spine as she locked eyes with him. Quietly, a young man walked up beside Enji, his expression showing he didn't really want to be at the ball. (Y/N) gasped as she recognized the red and white locks and the blue and gray eyes, a smile coming to her face. Prince Shoto was standing across from her, and he seemed to be smiling. He nodded at his father before walking over to (Y/N), kneeling before her and grabbing her hand. "It's an honour, milady." He said, kissing the back of her hand before standing up, still holding her hand. "I should be the one who's honoured, Prince Shoto." She replied, making him smile ever so slightly. Shoto's ears perked up as a slow song came on, making him grab her other hand. "May I have this dance, princess?" He asked, awaiting approval. (Y/N) blushed slightly and nodded, letting him lead her towards the dance floor. As the two started dancing, (Y/N) spoke up. "Any chance you remember me?" She asked, a hopeful smile on her face. "Of course I do. You were my first and only friend." He replied, blushing slightly. "How have you been? I'm so sorry about my father cutting off connections, I tried to stop him." Shoto asked, an apologetic look in his eyes. "Don't apologize, we were only four. I've been alright, my parents still haven't changed." She explained, hugging him quickly as the song ended. Shoto's eyes widened before he hugged back, beginning to feel complete once again.

Shoto was the first to pull away, grabbing her hand and leading her over to the refreshments. (Y/N) poured two glasses of water, and handed one to Shoto. "The other drinks are most likely spiked. My parents love their alcohol at balls." She explained, taking a sip of her water. After a few moments of silence, (Y/N) spoke up. "I didn't want to ask this while everyone's attention was on us, but you never had a scar when we were little. What happened?" She asked, immediately regretting it as she saw Shoto tense up. "You don't need to answer! I'm sorry if I made you uncomfort-" "It's alright. You have a right to know." He cut her off, making her eyes widen. "After I got home from our final playdate, I walked into the kitchen for a drink. When I entered, my mother was on the phone and talking to her sister. I called out for her, and she turned around and we locked eyes. I remember she called my left side unbearable, before she poured boiling water on my face." Shoto explained, holding his scar with his left hand. (Y/N) felt her eyes tear up as she got closer to Shoto, hugging him tightly. "I'm so sorry. If it helps, you're nothing like your father. I promise you." She whispered, blushing as she felt him bury his head in her hair. All of a sudden, she felt a tap on her shoulder, making her pull away. She turned around and saw it was only Mary. "Milady, the ball is ending. The king and queen have asked for the main event to begin." She explained, making (Y/N) sigh. She thanked Mary before feeling Shoto grab her hand and lead her to the middle of the ballroom. Shoto grabbed a glass and tapped on it with a spoon, quickly gathering everyone's attention. "Tonight has been an amazing night, but there's one thing that would make it even better!" Shoto declared, turning to (Y/N) and kneeling on one knee. "Princess (Y/N), I know we are both young, but I can't help but admit that I've fallen in love with you. Will you do me the honour of becoming my wife?" He asked, an opened velvet box that contained a diamond ring sat in his hands. (Y/N) gasped, still surprised by the confession even though she knew what was happening. "Yes! I'll marry you!" She cried, feeling her eyes tear up as Shoto smiled and stood up, sliding the ring onto her finger. (Y/N) thought that would be the end, but froze when she felt soft lips on hers. She smiled into the kiss, returning it with the same amount of love. At that moment, both Shoto and (Y/N) realized that an arranged marriage wasn't so bad, as long as they were getting married to each other.
