We sit in the backseat of my car. The seats are down so we can lay flat but both of us are sitting up right. We've been dating for a couple years now, and tonight, Lucy wanted to do it. She said she wanted me to be her first, and I want her to be my last. She sits there on edge.
"Are you sure you want this?"
"Yeah." She doesn't stop looking forwards.
"I mean we can wait..." She looks my way but never makes eye contact with me.
"Yes, I'm sure."
"Lucy." I say pulling her from her dreams and concerns. "If you're not ready..." She turns to face me completely. Her brown eyes melt into me.
"Yes, I want this." She takes my hand. "I want you." She takes a deep breath and moves her hands to my face as she draws herself closer to me. Our foreheads meet. "I want us." She kisses me softly. We share each other's breath. We stay like this for days. Mouth to mouth, with her sitting on top of me, with her hand on my cheek, holding each other.
That is the only permission I need to continue.

I'm leaning against the wall of the car. Lucy rests her head on my stomach as she sleeps. It's not often that I stay awake early into the morning but her beauty and the way I crave holding her keeps me up. I trace my fingers over her body. Over all her curves, her scars, her perfection.
"Logan?" She whispers. I look down and realize I woke the sleeping beauty. "Why me?" I look at her puzzled and slightly amused. "There are dozens of girls out there, why me?" I readjust from under her and think for a second. I don't know what to say. Ugh. How can I not know what to say. I had a planned answer for it and everything.
I say something random.
"Because none of them are you. I've always loved you and I know that I will forever."
I look down at her and see that she is once again asleep and probably missed everything I said. I brush her soft brown hair from her face and place a gentle kiss on her head, hoping not to wake her again.
My eyes trave over her once more and fireworks build in the pit of my stomach; She's the one for me, the one I should spend the rest of my life with, the one who has my heart forever and ever.

The sun shines through the window of the car. I squint as my eyes adjust from sleeping. Lucy lays curled up next to me, she must have waken again during the night. I boop her nose, teasing her. She opens her eyes partially and makes direct eye contact with me. After a moment she realizes something and then blushes into her ears. She slowly leans over to me and gives me a sleepy kiss. She pulls back and then makes her way to the passenger seat of the car. I follow and help her over, grabbing her hand and hip as she steps over the seat. I follow her actions then turn on the car and start driving. The radio clicks on and the music starts quietly playing. I reach for the volume control and so does Lucy. Our hands collide. I laugh and pull away, slightly grazing my fingers over the back of her hand. The volume gets louder and the classic "Don't Stop Believing", from Journey, comes on.
"He's just a city boy," Lucy sings. I peel my eyes away from the road to look at her. She blushes and stops singing.
"No, keep going." I beg her.
"He took the midnight train going anywhere." Her angelic voice carries me away.
The song ends as I pull into the neighborhood. We drive deeper and deeper into the neighborhood. I don't want to drop her off. I want her to stay with me forever.
"Thank you." Lucy says as she turns the music down. She pulls me from my thoughts.
"Anytime for you doll." I pull into the driveway of Alexis, Lucy's best friend. Lucy told her parents that she'd staying at Alexis's house so that they wouldn't get suspicious of us.
I pull into the driveway and park. Lucy opens her door and hops out. She turns around, gets back I, kisses me, then gets back out. She pulls her shirt down and runs her fingers through her hair, readjusting herself. She playfully slams the car door and I glare at her. She sticks her tongue out, like a child, in response. I can't help but laugh.
I watch as she struts to the front door. She turns around and smile at me. She knocks. A couple seconds later, Alexis opens the door. I nod to her and switch my car into reverse. I peel out of the drive way as Lucy walks inside.
My darling girl.
